How soon can a 3D/4D ultrasound determine the gender of my baby? I know they recommend 20 weeks for a regular ultrasound but my doctor is doing free 3D/4D at her new office. I was just wondering if you can tell sooner on 3D/4D since it's in more detail. I'll be 16 weeks and 3 days by my next appointment. I'm really anxious to know already. Think it's hopeful? Or just wishful thinking?

As for the volume of a hypersphere, I was thinking one would integrate the surface area of a hypersphere from radius=0 to radius=R (similar to how the volume of a sphere is derived from integrating the surface area of a sphere), but in 4D would it become a multiple integral since there is a new dimension to be considered?

Does a 3D/4D ultrasound cause discomfort to the baby? I watched a documentary on National Geographic recently about fetal development. The show said that 3D/4D ultrasounds commonly cause babies to grimace and move around rapidly.
