How old should a child be to watch IMAX 3D movies? My 3 yr old LOVES the previews for the movie "Born to be Wild" but is only availabel in IMAX 3D. I am afraid she will get scared by the 3D effects. Any other parents out there have taken their young kids to see it? Thanks.

IMAX 3d movies don't look like the old school 3d movies or is it just me? Okay I saw Harry Potter on Imax and only a couple of clips were what I remember to be for real 3-d. When they were flying I only saw two threshals (or whatever they're called) in the theater, everything else was 3d in the screen like the shelves with the fortune balls only stuck out a littel in the SCREEN. My first experience with 3-d was the Michael Jackson "Captain Eo" movie and I remember he'd be OUT IN THE AUDIENCE above the audience and when he's flying at the end he's out in the audience. So my question is coudl it be my seating position(i sat in the middle so do i need to sit on teh sides for the next 3-d movie) or is it b/c it's stadium seating (Michael Jackson was like floor seats at a concert, are back to back seating. remember where you gotta sit to the side if someone is taller than you and blocking your way)

Should movies be re-released in 3D-IMAX? I think it would be a great idea. Some classics would be great in 3D. This year is the 25th anniversary of the release of Back to the Future. If they did a 3 movie 3D-IMAX re-release it would be a great idea. I would watch all three back-to-back-to-back in 3D. E.T. is another movie that I think would be great in 3D. how much of the new imax 3d harry potter actually in 3d? so far the movies have only had small segments in 3d,? I am not a fan of 3D. Harry Potter has been listed as 3D several times. I love IMAX. Keep in mind that these have to be pretty good movies, with a following, not just a lameass movie reformatted. Also, it has to at least been made in color (a lot of older movies (i.e. Psycho) would be great in this format, but they were made in a more primitive format, which would be difficult to make in IMAX.

Do you like watching movies in 3D/IMAX? Personally, it unless it is a special type of movie it will just totally spoil the viewing experience for me. It brings some depth to what you're seeing but from what I've watched it is just so flawed.. Like I'd watch those Nat. Geo. type stuff like Under the Sea 3D but Superman at IMAX is a big no-no to me.. I know people love it tho, especially the younger ones.. what's your stance?

AVATAR in theatres: What's the difference between watching a movie in IMAX 3D or Digital 3D? If you've seen it both ways, did you notice a difference? is there one you'd recommend over the other? Can't see 3d movies anymore, but i use to be able, what happened? When i first went to see a movie in 3d, it was the movie UP and the full effect worked. Everything popped out and it was cool, but slowly after the effect started to go away. yesterday i went and saw avatar i imax 3d and nothing popped out. The movie doesn't look blurry at all, i can see like a depth perception but when things try to pop out they sometimes go blurry or nothing happens. What happened to make me not be able to have the 3d effect anymore?

What 3D technology does IMAX use? I've seen Avatar twice at my local cinema which has a Dolby 3D system and want to see it one more time during its run in theaters. Another cinema nearby is showing it IMAX 3D which I'm really excited about because walking out of the theater I was thinking that this movie is one of the few that would really benefit from IMAX. However I've seen IMAX 3D movies in the past and was really disappointed. There has always been problems with ghosting and distortion, I've walked out of the theater with terrible headaches, and so on. But I haven't been to see an IMAX 3D film since before Real D appeared on the scene. Does anyone know if IMAX uses the newer 3D technology or if they are still using older linear polarization setups?

When you close one eye watching movie in IMAX 3D cinema, do you get the same picture quality as in 2D? I'm asking cause I'm amblyopic - nerves don't correctly connect my left eye with the brain and I can't really see in 3d. There's not any cinema around that shows Avatar in 2D (I'm not American), so I'm asking - does seeing through that polarized glass distort the picture or change its quality in any way? Thanks.
Problem getting image to pop out of screen in IMAX 3D? I recently watched an IMAX 3D movie and although there was a plane of depth, there was nothing "jumping out of the screen" if you know what I mean. I know there was supposed to be that effect because the people I saw it with said that there definately was that effect. Next time I see a 3D movie I want to get the full effect. Any solutions?

I might see the movie in IMAX 3D if it is available near a theatre where I live, but I will see it regardless if there is IMAX or not. So is it worth seeing in 3D? :)
TV is in 2D but we see in 3D - how does this affect our brains? We watch TV in 2D but everything around us is in 3D. When we go to a 3D IMAX movie it freaks us out! Does staring at moving 2D images negatively affect our brains?

Have you seen Superman Returns in IMAX 3D ? I have and it rocks. 4 selected scenes were shot in 3D. You definitely have to see in its IMAX 3D format. The movie is also a great tribute to Christopher Reeve who paved the way for the role of Superman/Clark Kent which is excellently interpreted by Brandon Routh. Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor...all I have to say is wow ! Again, Gene Hackman paved the way...Kevin Spacey perfected the role...

eye problem i cant see 3d? im really upset, i went to several different 3D iMAx movies, including 4d movies at theme parks, and they are all doubled to me. i tried my friends glasses and they are still doubled. i went to the eye doctor and he saidi was normal because i can see the pictures popping out of the books. what is wrong with me why cant i see 3d films, i USED TO be able to. what is happening and what can i do... im scared:(
new Batman movie has scenes in IMAX but not 3d what does that mean? Does the IMAX experience mean it'll look sorta like a 3d book (where a square will look like a cube)???Someone explain b/c they said it was a difference than just putting the movie in the IMAX room as they sometimes do (bigger screen more sound details) no that's not what I said. how do u view 3D movies? i work at barnes and noble, and we just started selling the imax collection of dvd's in 3D. i know u need the 3D glasses(no problem) but i was wondering if you need some kind of special equipment or what? do u just put the movie in put on your glasses and youre good to go? help!

What are "Beowulf" non-IMAX 3D glasses like? I'm speaking of the 3D glasses in regular multiplex theaters, not IMAX theaters. I'm trying to decide if I want to go to this film in 3D or the regular format. *I assume they aren't like the ones of old with two different lenses but are probably grey tinted, correct (like the ones for "Ghosts of the Abyss"? Does the tinting affect the coloring of the movie or is it bright? *Do the glasses fit over your own glasses and are they made of plastic? *Do you keep them or put them in a bucket after the show?
3d movie question? Hey all, i was wondering, is the movie The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep showing in imax or 3d at all? and, there was a new 3d movie coming out soon, but i can't remember for the life of me the movie or when it was coming out. It was a kids movie, and there was like this secret world you could only see if you like, either believed or looked through this ring thingy. anybody have any ideas? I'm looking for good movies for my little brother (7yrs old) and these seemed pretty cool. He would like the water horse, but he's never been to a 3d movie so i thought the other one would be cool. i saw beawulf, AWESOME I must say, but nothign for him >_< Cheers!!!
I have a brand new 52 inch screen tv and would like to try out some 3-D movies. Whare can I buy them? I've tried EBay and Amazon. I got Shrek for the kids and was looking for any IMAX movies but aparently they do not make them in 3D.
