Looking for a list of anime movie without magic or spells? Hi I am looking for a list of japanese 2d and 3d anime movies they can be , sci-fi, romance, action, adventure, dramatic, anything as long as they do not have magic, spells, wizards or wizardry or witches in them, also anything that is horrific or far too violent is not good either, or anything with psychic is not good either. Movies like Ghost in the Shell(too violent), Spirited Away(too magic), Howls Moving Castle(wizardry) have elements that I don't like. Why isn't there any Cartoon or Anime Movies in Theaters, but only on tv and on dvd? This Just Makes Me Wounder? I am absesed with this thing. Certain unjustifiable taboos (which differs from cultures to cultures, i.e. following from the first example, crossplaying for guys are quite acceptable in Japan/Taiwan/etc but not in the more Western-influenced Singapore) impose unnecessary conformity and restricts freedom for people to simply be who they are just so that they can "fit in" (i.e. guys frequently felt pressured to act tough and pretend to be "macho" and not able to freely show their emotions or fear). It limits self-expressions for one and induces frustration in those who do not conform to it. People in certain subsulture group, for instance, who go against taboos are occasionally condemned in an over-the-top way. For instance, the goth/emo scene, in western sub-culture etc were reacted upon a lot more negatively than some other less "taboo" subcultures like certain type of punkrockers, where violent fights frequently break out during the gigs and have real negativity impact to the society. It creates intolerance and discrimination to those who are "different" from the norm. and for no good apparent reasons other than for it simply being a deviation from the "status quo". At one point in time, women used to be restricted to wearing only skirts, sports used to be a man's thing, and many more. What are anime/s where the main guy's friend/best-friend died, then he remembers the friend at a hard time? I'm talking about action anime, but it could also be anime without violent action. Examples of action anime that has the description I want: 1) Tengen Toppa Gurenn Lagann - the main character remembers his older friend (who acted as his older brother) which made him very courageous as he fought the bad guys and defeated them all on his own; this is a great action anime. 2) Final Fantasy the movie - it's the 3D movie and also the animation movie. I think Cloud was the main character. So, Cloud remember his older friend (a fellow soldier who was always happy and protective) who died saving Cloud. Cloud used his friend's huge sword in battles. 3) Ginban Kaleidoscope - the female main character have a ghost friend to help her in her practices and stuff. 4) Naruto (latest manga) - Naruto remembers Jiraiya, as Naruto fought the bad guys. 5) S-cry-ed - the main character remember his friend when he was about to drown; the friend (as a ghost/memory) told him that he must stand up and fight, so the main character became stronger again. Usually, the friends/comrades who died were happy characters or jokers of the story. We feel bad for losing them, but it is something that must be for the main character to change into a better person. I'm looking for these kinds of anime.

Why is spirited away such a loved and awarded movie? I just watched the japenese (eng subbed) version of it recently because I looked at imdb.com's top 250 list and it was on it. I liked it alot because, I like anime and I like the way they animated it all. There was a CG movie about pyrokinesis on MTV2, what was it? Maybe 7 years ago I saw a CG (3D) movie on MTV2 about someone who could set things on fire with his mind. I have a quick anime movie question.? Okay, there’s this 3D animated (Japanese, I think) movie in which the main plot focuses around two warring human nations or something. It’s futuristic and one of them oppresses the other. The oppressors also live on what used to be a giant robot, but is now deactivated. Anyway, the male protagonist is from the oppressed nation and helps another female protagonist, from the oppressive nation, who finds out she is adopted—anyway, he helps her sacrifice herself to start another giant robot up and uses it to fight the oppressive nation’s robot. I sure hope this is right. Another key feature was the villain who had these weird like scorpion tails that came out of his body and could drain your “essence.” Does anyone know what that was called or any clues?

I know that someone out there has had to at least notice this once...? Why is it mainly 3d animated movies in theatres. When I was four Disney had movies like "The Lion King" and Beauty and the Beast." They also had stuff like the Alladin series. They were beautifully animated and the artwork was very well drawn out. Can I use a movies idea in my game? Well, here is the deal, I liked a certain feature from an anime, which I would like to include in my 3D game. In order to give you the idea let me give you an example, let's say that I though it was cool in One piece that people gained special powers after eating devil fruits. Any animation movie u could suggest? hi, as an adult i also like watching "cartoons" as they are also entertaining and refreshing, are there any nice animation movies you could recommend? One of my favorites are some superhero-types like Batman and Superman (do they have list of movies?), their storyline is good enough, anything else similar? I also like 3d animations. revised anime top ten? ok i have seen a few animes that i think are worth a revise of my top ten, the first 3 are the same but the rest chang, and here they are. ~1.Beck-the story telling, the art, the 3d guitar riffs, the hint of a love story, the only this anime is missing is a season 2. ~2.seto no hanayome-funny, funny, funny, funniest anime i have ever seen, 2 words dancing body gaurds. ~3.shippuden-in naruto the thing that was lacking the most was that the fighting animation didn't impress me, the movies where better, but the animation in shippuden is up to the movie level, and the stroy tell is a bit better. ~4.ghost in a shell-action, politics, emotion, and the art in this is amazing, one of the best in an anime series. ~5.strawberry panic-it is a little yuri, but the main character, aoi, is very sweet and innocent, and is intangled in a kind of battle for her affection. ~6.bokura ga ita-the way the story unfolds is very original, and the story alone is worth watching this one, but the voice acting is very good, and when ever Nanami cusses it is very funny. ~7.samurai champloo-originality is what i look for in an anime(which is hard to find, sence there are like hundreds of them), and this one has it in spades, i love the fights, the humor is awesome, mugen is one of my favorite characters of all time(second only to rock lee). ~8.bleach-yes this one fell a bit in the rating, but that's because of all the fillers that seem to go no where, but if u can get past that this anime is great,the fights are awesome, and is an original take on the shinigami story. ~9.gun slinger girl-very original, there really isnt a main character in this one, but you can say henrietta is, but the stroy follows all the girls and the handlers of the organization, mix emotion, guns, and teenage girls, and u get a wonderful anime. ~10.great teacher onizuka-i loved this one, its very funny, but it has its moments of serious, the end was a little rushed, but it was still good. ~honerable mention----azumanga daioh-very slice of life, very funny, osaka is my favorite character. ya tell me what u think of my list, and put yours down.

What is the best detective/mystery show ever in your opinion up to this point? What is so far in your opinion the best detective/mystery show ever that you have seen? What is a good program i could use to make an animated movie (2d or 3d) and is easy enough? good storylines anime..........? Ok I'm having a bit of a block here. I'm currently learning 3D animations and what not to make short movies. I want a story with it, but everything I think of is either crap, uninteresting, or sort a bad rip off from something already made! >.< Ok so I would like some help from you guys, it doesnt have to have so many details, but just a broad idea. Help me name this Film...Anime possibly? I rented a CG possibly live action anime several years back and now i cant remember the name of it. It is filmed with live actors, but it is processed with computer graphics and has a very dark look to it. All i really remember is a virtual war scenario where things looked 3d, but as they were killed, they turned to 2d objects and a woman sniper. It was rented at an anime store and I think I'm pretty sure that's what it's classified as...but I could be wrong. It is set in the near future I would assume and I remember a scene with tanks rolling in a being blown up...then turning into a static 2d explosion.... How to get recognized? My brother and I (and some of his friends) are trying to get our production business recognized. Does a market for traditional 2d animation still exist? I am a senior in highschool, and I am heavily investing my time and effort in traditional, 18FPS, frame by frame animation. I am mimicking the efforts of the older warner brother and disney cartoons of old, where every frame is animated with actions. I am forfeting the style of limited animation; that is drawing only 4, to 0 frames in one second, a technique that anime is quite notorioiusly known for. In addition, I am not using bones, or tweens. I am going all out frame-by-frame, traditional animation. Lately, I have seen many 2d disney movies fail, and the animation market has been either dominated by 3d CGI films, or low quality anime. I am disappointed in this trend, and I wish to revive the animation styles of old. My question is this: Is there still a market for high quality, frame-by-frame animation? Is such a market profitable, or will I as a future traditional 2d animator only have limited 2d animation to turn to?

Does anyone think that there could be a real live action pokemon movie? I've been thinking that if transformers was a sucess and a dragonball Z live movie is coming out, why not a live pokemon movie? believe me, with the technolegy movie productions have, they might be able to do a live pokemon movie. Think of this, the new season of pokemon now use a bit of 3D graphics for pokemon attacks, why not make a 3D realistic LUCARIO (the pokemon) for example? Im a highschooler who wants to persure a career in 2D animation. I need advice from a 2D Animator!? First, Id like to inform you a little about myself. I've been drawing for a while now and I think I've developed some pretty good drawing skills considering Im only 16. My line of work is just sketches and more sketches of people and anatomical figures. I get creative with my drawings and a lot of my 'finished work' goes along the lines of illustration that I do on the computer with my tablet. Im awful at traditional painting, but Im quite confident in my drawing skills when it comes to drawing from life. Especially the human figure! But I work with the human figure blind more often than I do from life. I look to Jack Hamm's 'Drawing The Head and Figure' as well as Andy Smith's "Drawing Dynamic Comics."(Which teaches about drawing superhero comic figures) I try to mesh the two so that I can one day animate my own figures similar to those of the more realistic comicbooks you see on the shelves. I've also grown up looking at movies in the analytical aspect, scrutinizing pieces of the film to appreciate scenes and the storyboard that go into the film. My influences to persue in animation were DEFINATELY Batman the Animated Series and cartoon network itself! That as well as a few anime with either a very moving narrative or astounding animation qaulity. (Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Ghost In The Shell..) And even a few disney favorites... Oliver in Company, Aristo Cats, Balto, Lion King. I go to summer school once every year because I always end up failing one of my classes and I have to make up the credit so I can graduate. And the class that did that to me last year was french, which I couldnt take over the summer because they dont offer it at my highschool. So Im screwed when it comes to impressing a college with my '3 years of a language' thing. Im REALLY depending on art school at this point! I know I should not have done that because it shows a horrible work ethic, but drawing is the only thing I like to do! (besides play videogames, haha) I want to become an animator! (I've got a lightbox, a scanner and my trusty tablet) And I aspire to continue a career into 2D! I've looked into A LOT of schools and I cant find a school with a truly impressive curriculum in 2D animation. (I know its actually just animation where they teach you both 3D and 2D, but I couldnt find a good batch of classes for 2D in each of the programs of study for the colleges I was looking into.) BUT... I did find SCAD. Savannah College of Art and Design. (http://www.scad.edu) And their student work is very nice, I didnt see much 2D, but when I looked at their classes, it was a pretty nice list for 2D! I understand now that SCAD is supposedly a very impressive school, and I'd really like to get in! But my questions are... Do I have any other options? Is my work or my plans right now only going to hurt me? I dont know about what its like getting a job as a 2D animator or what an average day is for somebody working as one. Or even what the chances are for me to work for a company that'll give me decent pay to live on and pay future debt! I need some intel on somebody who works as a 2D animator. Im ready for a long road ahead of me until I really have the skills and experience needed to be a truly magnificent animator, but I want to make sure that when I train for it in college that I'll find work to get myself out there. I understand I wont be a big time animator or something straight out of college, but I want to know places or companies to work that I can do what I love and get more experience. Whats a good company or place to start out with? I dont even know if I have the right mindset right now! I feel blind! I know nothing about the animation career other than little things on how to actually animate. Last but not least, whats your story on how you became a 2D animator?
