What colors of Prismacolor markers are most useful for renderings of interior design elevations? I am taking a college course and we were instructed to buy a bunch of Prismacolor markers in various neutral colors. Mostly browns, greys, some greens, and blues. II really don't want to buy an entire set just yet...I'd rather just buy a few markers here and there. What colors are good for starting out when rendering interior spaces? Would love to hear what everyone's preferences are.
How much would you pay for a professional color consultation for an interior paint job? Let's say the service includes a home visit, photographic renderings of various color suggestions (done in Photoshop) and color/painting technique suggestions. Assume the consultation is for a MAXIMUM of 3 rooms. How much would you pay?? I'm looking for pricing for something a step or two above Home Depot and other big box retailers. I am actually the designer and I'm trying to figure out reasonable pricing since my degree is actually in architecture.
architectural renderings (3d illustrations) or game animation+ art? Which one of these two is the better, higher paid, or growing career/industry? Also, if i want to go into architectural renderings/modeling/animations can i good to college and major in animation and minor in interior design so that if i want to go into game/film animation i can have more options? Or should i just find a school that specializes in architectural renderings. By the way, i'm not planning on majoring in architecture(the non-rendering type).
What software does the architect on HGTV's "Hidden Potential" use to showcase their design ideas? A 2007-06-27 job posting on NYASLA's web site suggests it's AutoCAD (see below), but previous Answers have suggested Maya. Have they changed recently? Are those the same package under two different names? From the listing: "HGTV’s Hidden Potential is looking for talented, motivated Jr. Architects and Designers AutoCAD operators to join our Design Team. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside our on camera architect and designer in helping them achieve their visions. We design a high volume of residences and at the end of the job, a Jr. Architect will walk away with amazing 3D animations and still renderings of their design work. It is a fun, fast-paced design environment." "The ideal candidate has an eye for design – structural and interior – is proficient in AutoCAD, and is able to contribute to the creative design process on a daily basis. One must be computer savvy as our design team continually uses various software tools and FTP sites..."

What are all the options when you have an Interior Design Diploma with 5 years experience? I have been working as an interior designer for 5 years at a couple architect firms. I have not been very satisfied in the profession. It has become evident that it is not all it's cracked up to be. I want to know what my other options are having this as my background. I don't want to have to go back to school for something else, but I don't know what my options are. I love doing renderings and the creative parts and being behind the scene. I do not like the technical part with all the drafting and client meetings. And the pay is not as great as i thought it would be for all this hard work. I am confused and would love some direction!!
Please English speakers! is this well written? I though of this when I was there, but them I began working in offices here and didn’t found the time to set up this service. A month ago I opened a company of several architectural services. The services I have developed are images of Hype realistic Architectural Renders. They are very good. I will like you to check these examples posted in this link http://www.codeurbano.com/codearte-imagenes3d.html. Whenever you need this service, we produce 1 image a day with the chance of 2-3 corrections. An average price per image is 135$ for interior renderings as an example. I also have an American phone number, so it won’t cost that much calling me if you need to talk to us. This number is with the internet Magic Jack.
what type of company is it? I'm adding a some of services to our company, but I don't know how to categorize it, so people can understand what we do in few words. we do -Architectural design (retail, residential, 3d renderings, animations, interior design etc) -Multimedia presentations (websites, DVD, graphic design etc) -Professional Photography and video. How would you call or categorize this company or services?

Which 3D (3ds max, Maya, Form Z, Vizmax, Sketch Up, Rhino) is more useful in interior design? I use Autocad now but these 3d softwares add more effects to my subjects. I have only seen 3ds Max and Maya in bookstores' manuals and the rest I only hear from other designers. Which one is for of the "all-around" and flexible? Or at least I have to learn first.. I know there are differences in renderings and animation between Maya and Max - as I browsed through the net, but the rest, I can't find much where people talk about them.. What are they?
how to keep my office name? Nature of work is 3D visualization in architecture. Like Interior & Exterior Architectural Renderings , Architectural Renderings of Homes, Apartments and Condos , Architectural 3D Walkthroughs.
Best programme for basic 3D rendering? I'm looking for a good and easy to learn programme for creating scale 3D renderings of kitchen interiors. It doesn't have to be fancy, just accurate, and preferably one that I can use in conjunction with a vector editing prog like illustrator or corel draw. Thanks!

Where can I find Architectural design plans for Taiwanese houses? I recently started going back to school part time, trying to finish my architecture degree, and when my professor found out that I lived in Taiwan he gave me an assignment to design a full set of design plans and 3D renderings for various angles of the buildings interior and exterior. Even though I live in Taiwan I never actually paid much attention to the design of the buildings around me. So I am hoping some one can tell me where I can find blue prints, models, floor plans, anything like this that would help me to complete my assignment. I am not looking for anything fancy like Taipei 101 or the gigantic fancy houses suburbs of Taipei (mostly because they are too complex), rather I am looking for something like the normal 3-5 story houses, or even the traditional Chinese or Fukien style country homes. Anything that represents the houses that you see in Taiwan. Here are a few examples of the types of buildings that I am talking about. These are houses in Tainan in the An'Ping ~ (http://community.webshots.com/photo/fullsize/2145677290078206077oNRbQB) This is a blinding of traditional and modern Taiwanese housing in Tainan County (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2165/2197244026_4a8be8a419.jpg) This a traditional style Taiwanese house I don't think that it is a Fujian style but still in the ball park~ (http://community.webshots.com/photo/fullsize/1220262605049765968GposVB) This a modern style house in Taipei ~ (http://www.culture.gov.tw/d_upload_tca_pro/cms/image/A0/B0/C0/D0/E0/F997/283d1bc3-0bd8-4507-b4cd-c056b596e5ef.jpg) This is a typical house in Taichung (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3458/3870620876_909f00ffd6_o.jpg) If anyone has any sort of useful information about this your help will be very appreciated. Thank you

What is the best video card and best HD monitor in the world today? Hi, I am Interior Designer and I use a program called MicroStation V8i. I have a few questions. Can Windows 7 easily support more than one hard drive? The renderings can take up a lot of space so I may need to get one hard drive dedicated only to the drawings. I need a big monitor, at least 27 inches or more but I don't know what brand. I would like my video card to be able to support two monitors. What kind should I get? I need a great video card and lots of RAM because I will be "walk through" animations of large homes, offices and restaurants.
I Need Architectural Rendering Done ASAP. What is the Least Expensive Method to Obtain a Rendering? I need a rendering of a planned new building structure for business plan and presentation purposes only. How can I obtain this and how fast can i get something done and at what cost? I am aware there is software at universities students use that can model out interiors of planned building although nothing is to spec. Does there exists software also for doing renderings of the exterior of a building as well? Where would i find this type of service online or hear in Chicago, IL? Please advise, thanks.
CPU performance during 3d model rendering? i use kerkythea and revit to create 3d models of buildings and render architectural perspective images of buildings and interiors. whenever i render, i set them to use all 4 cores of my CPU (to speed up the rendering process) so the CPU usage in the task manager is expected to shoot up to 100% as soon as i start rendering my question is... if this 100% CPU usage is prolonged for hours and hours (because some renderings i do may take up to 5 hours) will this damage or wear out my CPU? what component of the PC specifically? and is it ok to continue with minor multitasking work (ex. microsoft word or internet browsing) even if the CPU usage is already at 100%? thanks in advance! note: PC specs -Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8400 @ 2.66GHz -Memory (RAM) 2.00 GB -Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT -Primary hard disk 138GB Free (176GB Total) -OS Windows7 Ultimate
I need to render building interiors including furniture.? I need impressive photorealistic renderings, and the furniture will be based off standard catalogues/blocks. It is preferable that the blocks can be parametric, and have not been created yet. The process I need it for is the following: -import general wall/electrical/plumbing layout as 2d dwg/dxf -convert layout to 3D -place furniture, built-ins, dimensions, hatching, notations, dwg block, revision info -export as engineering drawings -export as 3D renderings I'm experienced with AutoCad and am looking for a solution that is easier than doing extrusions/drawing faces and applying materials (my last version is 2008) which is very time consuming and frustrating. Yet other software that is available is expensive and does not provide the professionalism that I'm looking for. I'm open to using open-source software, but I need advice on which software to use.
