When is far enough along to go for a 3D ultra sound ? We are 14 weeks pregnant and just wondering when the best time to go for a 3D ultra sound. I have heard that its not worth it if you go to early because the baby is not developed enough to really see the face and features. Has anyone else had one? If so at what week ? Or what week would you recommend to have it scheduled? We have another regular ultrasound on November 3rd, at 19 weeks. However would you recommend we wait until after that for best results? Maybe around 22-24 weeks?

Does flavored water count as drinking your 8oz water a day for a ultra sound? Im getting a 3d ultra sound and the doc said to hydrate as much as possible but I drink 8 glasses of water a day but i replace the one bottle of water with propel water. Does that count?

I had the 3d ultra sound done this week! the baby is very big n very chunky! on his head there was bumps on ..? his head. the ultra sound lady said that it is a sign of alot of hair n not to b worried bc its just hair that's how it shows up. Him havin hair or not dnt matter bt seeing the bumps scare me.

3d ultra sound place told me im measuring almost 3 weeks small? so im sixteen weeks along and my dr did an ultrasound at 8 weeks and the baby was right on target she did this to get a better due date idea even tho i know the exact date of last period she wanted to check. she has been doing the outside measurements and also said im righton. today i went to a 3d place to find out the sex of the baby and they told me that im only 13 weeks going by the size of the baby. has this ever happened to anyone?? who should i go by on my due date the dr says oct 25 the 3d place said nov 11. i do have a ultrasound with my doctor already lined up for june 8th but im a little worried that someone is way off

The doctors have decided to send my daughter for a 3D ultra sound? Is there anything I should know in advance so I can advise her better, any advice from some one that has actually had one would be great. NOT trying to freak her out, just wanted to make sure that if there was something else to it, I would know in advance so I can reassure her, dang they barely had the ordinary scans when I had her and her brother, so a great deal of this is new to us both. They have asked her to go for this due to genetic testing.
What is the difference between a 3D ad 4D ultra sound? They say that a 4D is the "moving version" of a 3D,...but the regular old ultrasound produces a moving picture on the screen as well. Do the 3D ultrasound pictures not move?? I'm confused.

Your opinion on a 3d/4d ultra sound? So I'm debating on weather to get one of these. More than likely I will have to pay outta pocked, and it's about $100. I'm just on the fence if I want to ruin seeing what my baby truly looks like before I have her or would it ruin it. I want to but then I guess it kinda takes away from the surprise. I know it doesn't show exactly what baby looks like but more so than the regular ultra sound. So did you get one, are you planning on getting one, why, and if you did, did it take away from the surprise of what baby looks like when you had him/her? Okay so i am supposed to get my 3D or 4D ultra sound done on April 6th I cant remember which there doing but either one is fine with me. But my question is should I send my mom copies of it? here is a little of our background. I dated a guy for about 3 years and my mom was always saying how she wanted me to move out so on my birthday i asked him if i could move in he said yea. So i did well acouple of days before that she started a job i told her not to because i would be moving out. Well she did it anyway and i still moved out early that morning of my 18th birthday. When she awoke she found me gone and started calling family and telling them lies and when i did call her she was more upset about who was going to raise her kids more than she was about me being gone and if i was okay. well on oct 10th of 08 i found out i was pregnant now this was 4w and 3d after i moved out i waited awhile to tell everyone i was pregnant so about the time everyone found out it had 2 or a lil more months since i moved out. I did not talk to her till i was in my second trimester. And she went on to say i knew this was going to happen and i told her so did i because we planned this pregnancy. And everytime i call her no answer and when i changed my number i called her to let her know and she was like who is this i was like um your oldest daughter and she was like okay well i gotta go bye an hung up she has never called to check on me or my pregnancy. so do you think i should send her pictures of her grandsons ultra sound?

I've had two 3D ultra sounds ? I've had two 3D ultra sounds and both times my baby had her feet and hands in her face. We were not able to see her face at all. What can I do for the next time I go in bc we really want to see her face.

Was your babies gender wrong at ultra sound? I just had my 20 week ultra sound yesterday. I have to wait until my doctors appointment too find out how the baby is doing, however by my film i was given The spine and everything looks good (altho im no doctor lol)! But she didnt tell me length or weight, or anything about the amniotic fluid. Was just curious, quick- Will the radiologist write this down in there report that later is given to my doctor in a few days(my doctor doenst do the ultra sounds, doesnt have the machine at her office). And we were told she is pretty sure its a boy. I saw between the legs and it definetly looked like there was a penis there.... However In one of the other angles the umbilical cord was directly in front of him/her and down the centre of him/her. Could that have been what we seen. Or do you think she is right? She didn't give a percentage. The baby wouldn't keep his/her legs open It mostly layed on its side or flat on his/her back :) It didnt want to let her get some measurements either she said because it was being active lol. (I have a 3d ultra sound for march) I believe Its in 3 weeks from now) And I figure that would probably give me a better idea. However I have felt somehow it is a boy. I really was hoping for a little girl. And I don't really Want more then one baby, This one was unplanned. However I just want it too be healthy and will love it anyways. I was just curious since this is my first ultra sound that I could see a baby(only other ones were at 4-7 weeks) for medical reasons.And unless i go to my 3d ultra sound I was told more then likely unless my doctor wants to get measurements at 7-9months Then I wont get too see another one :( kind of sucks Id say but I know you all know what I mean :) Thank you everyone!!! The view she got well the only one she let me see (she said she got a pretty good view earlier) however it moved from back to side a lot). The view we saw when she showed us between the legs was zoomed out and when he/she was on its side its legs were crossed the whole time, however it slightly opened them and thats what it looked to be blunt like a little penis stickin up towards its belly button would be) but then he/she quickly kept its legs closed again!
Here are some of my 28 week ultra sound pics... Look!!? Ok so I went to my doctor's appointment on Wednesday and I got my 3rd ultra sound.... She gave me a 3D scan and said that his face was still kinda scary looking, like it wasn't formed all the way..... I just thought that it would be fully formed by now.. Idk it's my first pregnancy and every lil thing worries me. I've seen other 28 week 3D ultra sound pics, and they look fully formed from there face..... I am kinda worried.. She didn't say anything was wrong but I am just wondering.... I know the last pic is a good pic of his face but that was the best that she got of his face without it looking scary..... 3D Ultra Sounds... Good Or Bad? i was just told that getting a 3d/4d ultrasound can be harmfull to the baby. does anybody know if that is true or not? my friend's midwife told her not to get one. I have one set for the 26th of june. What is your opinion on this?
Im 5 months pregnant and 14 I just want to the doctor for the first time and he did an ultra sound...? He said I shouldn't of waited tell i was experiencing complications to go to the doctor (i knew that but i couldnt tell my dad i was preggo tell i thought i was gonna die......) He said that I was suffering from dehration and thats why i was spotting and cramping...... Im so happy my dad wasnt that mad just worried I feel stupid for not telling him. Safety of 3D ultra sounds? I have always thought these were safe but so far two people have asked me about their safety since I mentioned that I am going for one on the 21st. They are so popular now so I just never really thought about it. Are they safe or is there really something to think about here?

I was wondering when they do the ultra sound to determine the sex of your baby if they can not tell you on that day Will your doctor re-schedule another ultra sound just for that purpose? How do you find a place where you want to pay for an ultrasound? I am on Medicaid here in Nebraska and I know that I will only be having one ultra sound during my pregnancy. My mom said she would help us out if we find a place that will do a 3D/4D ultra sound that you pay for and don't need a doctor's consent. I am going for a UC Baby ultrasound and need songs for the DVD ideas? I am going for the 3D ultra sound and they have advised me that I can take some music for the background music on the DVD! Any suggestions would be great! I have already looked into the place were I am going and they are certified ultrasound technicians. They do work at the clinics and hospitals here.

The ob/gyn thinks I have endometriosis.? They have done cat scans, 1 ultra sound, 1 3D ultra sound, they said my ovaries are not mobile from the 3D one, the dr. suggested giving me a hysterectomy, well I am 39, wanted to have another child this next month or so...so he is going to do a D&C and a hysteroscopy, now will that tell for sure I have endometriosis? He never said anything about a laparoscopy...I just read that... I don't have alot of pain, everyone says I should be in alot of it, the only time I have it is when I start my period, the first 3 days, bad headache and really bad backache...I do sometimes hurt durning sex, not all the time, have had that a long time....I really want to know is there a pill you can take to slow down the endometrisis, and a pill to make you ovulate better? I would love to have another baby...Thanks.
2 due dates? Well i was givin 2 due dates the first of june 10th the 2nd of june 27 when I first found out I was preg on my first ultra sound I was really sick and could not eat anything. the doc told me my baby would not grow if it didnt get the nutrents it needed but i was just 2 sick. on my send they said june 27th. because of his gastric age or what ever it is. On my 3d ultra sound at the first of march my baby boy was 2lbs 8 oz and they said everything was developed fine. but that his kidneys was swollin but any way he has really been pushing down and I have been having sever pain in my vaginal area and back could the first due date be the right one

I think you should do some reading. Here in Canada we have very very strick laws and ultrasounds are not harmful at all for the baby.. We do them routine at 19 mths.. Whoever told you that is feeding you a line of crap. We have checked with the GY also you shouldnt give medical advise that you dont know about good thing Im in the field...LOL but thanks for the concern just not the right advise.

So I had my ultra sound a week ago today and...? It was 3d/4d... So I was showing my family the pics (I think these are soooo cool) and my sister said that she thought my baby looked like my father who passed away in early aug of last year. Well she mentions it to my step mom and my step mom agrees, and while at my grandpas bday last weekend, I am asked to show them (my dads parents) the pic, well my step mom tells them she thinks Aiden looks like my dad, and all of a sudden oh yes he does and tears and blah blah blah. I feel so guilty for being so crappy about it but honestly, due to my husbands family and their strong genes, I doubt Aiden will look like me, all of his family look alike! Our daughter doesn't look like me at all either! And if my son were to resemble my dad (I look a ton like my dad) then it's genetics to me, but these people (family or not) seem to think Aiden will be my father reincarnated or something! Help with advice on how to stop this crap please! It makes me very upset... it's not that I mind the concept of my son looking like my father, it's that i mind people treating me differently because fo this and the fact that knowing my dad's side, if Aiden did look like my dad they would treat Aiden literally like a god and my daughter like crap (which they do already) they have a pecking order to them, and feel entitlement to anything they THINK is theirs and I know that if Aiden did look like my dad again this would pose a problem becuae they would feel the need to cling to my son as if he was theirs!

fluid on fetus brain 18 weeks? normal 18 week ultra sound and some structures of the fetus's brain were un seen they think because of possible fluid, I go for a 3D ultra sound Wed. What could this be? Everything else from measurments to movement to hear beat was perfect.
Ultrasound question.? Okay so i'm 24 weeks pregnant. I had one ultra sound done like 2 months ago. My doctor told me that on friday he was going to schedule one for me but now he says I can't have one untill 30 weeks....It's really frusterating me!! How can I get him to get scedule me one without having to wait another 6 weeks?? Bummed out ...? im 24 weeks pregnant and still don't know what I'm having... Everyone else i've talked to already knew what they were having way before now... one of my best friends is due a month after I am and knows what she's having...and keeps asking me when I'm going to find out so we can go shopping together.. Aslo everyone keeps asking me so they can start shopping for baby shower things.. Not showing at 18w 3d? okay yesterday i went to have my ultra sound to find out the sex, im having a boy. Now is there a reason im not showing at almost 5 months? Is there a sitting postion i cant feel? Also, how much **aprox** will he sleep during the second trimester?
