Samsung 3D TV turns off when I power on FIOS? I just bought new Samsung PN58C8000 TV, hooked it up to to an old Verizon FIOS hDTV receiver (not the newer box) and used an HDMI cable that is NOT 1.4x (used for 3d TV), but instead just a regular old HDMI cable. After the TV starts to show the programming in hi set (for only about 1 second), the TV powers down on its own. I know it's probably not the TV because the TV worked fine when the DVD player was plugged into it. So, is it the FIOS box itself perhaps not being compatible? Or is it the HDMI cable?

Problems viewing 3D on Samsung 63" plasma TV? A few weeks ago I bought a Samsung 3D TV, and I have been happily playing 3D games with my PS3 on it. Today, my Samsung 3D Blu-Ray home cinema arrived, and since connecting the 3D blu-ray up, I can't get 3D either with this, or with the PS3 any more! A blurred image is sent to the screen, as you would expect for 3D, but the glasses just don't convert it. I have five pairs of Samsung 3D glasses, so they can't all suddenly have gone wrong. Has anyone else had this problem or got a fix please?

Questions about the new Samsung UN46C7000 3D LED TV.? I have a ton of questions about the newly announced Samsung UN46C7000 LED TV. You may have seen the ad at the academy awards. 1. The specifications on the Samsung website say that the TV will convert regular 2D content, to 3D content. Will this be true, and if so, will the quality be compromised? 2. How does/will it compare to Sony's 3D TV? People who have experienced the Sony 3D demo at a Sony Style will say it was amazing. I've experienced it myself, but has anyone experienced Samsung's 3D demo? 3. PS3 will have a firmware update to support 3D movies and games, but will the PS3 be compatible with Samsung's 3D LED TV? Or will I have to buy a separate Samsung 3D Blu-Ray Player? This is the most important question for me, because I plan to play a lot of games and movies through my PS3. 4. Are there Samsung 3D demos out yet? If so, where can they be located? 5. How much will the 3D shutter glasses be, if I buy extra units? 6. Is there a different TV base compatible with the UN46C7000? Because I can't stand the "cross design" of the base. Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions. For more information about the Samsung 3D I'm talking about go to this link: http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/tv-vi…

Samsung UE46C6530 46" LED TV or Samsung LE46C750 Full HD 3D LCD TV? Hi, I currently have a very old 26 inch CRT tv and am looking to buy a new flat screen HDTV before the World Cup starts. I have narrowed my choice down to two TV's, which are the Samsung UE46C6530 46" LED TV and the Samsung LE46C750 Full HD 3D LCD TV. Both of these TV's are quite new in the market and therefore I cannot find any reviews for them. The price for both is also roughly the same. I wanted to know if anyone has bought either of these TV's and what they thought of them. Should I get the LCD 3D one as it will be more future proof with the 3D feature, or the LED one which I think looks more better in terms of picture quality? Any suggestions / info welcome.

I have a ps3, a new 1080p Samsung tv, and a monster HDMI cable, whats wrong w/ my blu-ray movies? I recently recieved a 1080p plasma samsung tv, a playstation 3, and a monster HDMI cable. The reason I bought it is because I was "WOWED" by the blu-ray demo they always show at best buy. The picture was so real, it almost looked 3D as though I could reach into the screen and grab it. I was excited when I got a player of my own, but when i played the movie, it wasn't nearly as sharp as the demo I watched. It just looked like a really good DVD picture, but a DVD pisture nonetheless. Could there be something defective in my PS3 or HDMI cable? What am I doing wrong? Someone please help me.

How much should i expect to pay for this? What is the 3d plug for. I've heard it has something to do with gaming? TV is 50inch
LCD TVs and Blu-ray 1080p 3D? This question is similar to one of my previous but now what I want to know is, will 3D blu-ray movies in 1080p look just as good on my 40" Samsung LCD TV as in theaters? Like take for example, Avatar, would that look as good on my TV as it did in theaters in 1080p blu-ray? Or will it look just like any other movie that has come out on DVD in 3D? Another question I need to know is, even though my TV isn't 3D ready like some of the DLP tvs that are out, will it look the same on my LCD than on those 3D DLP ready TVs? Thanks a bunch, I'm striving to understand these 3D concepts that are arising and the 3D change over here in the next couple of years.

It is a 120hz tv with built in subwoofer, touch of colour bezel, DLNA(movies, music, photos, rss style weather and news) , usb wiselink(music, movies, pictures), The next one i was looking at was a 40in Sony Z series(KDL-40z4100) on clearence for 1499.99 which has 120hz, Bravia 2 engine, Live colour creation, DLNA(pictures only), usb media(pictures only), XMB user interface with 3d graphics, bravia sync. I am planning on making the jump to 3D but which display should I get? Okay after reading articles about the PS3 most likely getting an update in 2010 allowing it to play games in 3D, I am having trouble finding 3D LCD TV's. My first thou was I was going to get a 3D Ready gaming monitor either the Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ 3D or the Viewsonic VX2265wm. But now after watching a review I realized they don't have HDMI inputs on them they only have DVI-D. So I looked around and I found HDMI to DVI-D cables but I wonder if they would acutally work and since the whole 3D scene is new there is not much info out there on this kinda of stuff. Does anyone know if that would effect it or anything, and also does anyone know a place that has 3D LCD tv's listed for buying? To the people below those aren't answers to my question >.< I've played games in 3D on PC and they are amazing. It adds to the experience and makes it more immersive. Also the firmware update they have planned will make ALL PS3 work in 3D thou developers in the future are acutally planning on programing with 3D in mind. I've played games like F.E.A.R 2 in 3D (not programmed with 3D in mind) and its still amazing ashes float by your face when your hud starts up at the beginning of the game its like putting on a helmet, your iron sites come out of your screen like your looking down the gun and with the game being of the horror genre things get up in your face all the time but in 3D its up out and almost touching your face. Far more scary. I would like as someone to acutally read my question and answer it for me instead giving negative useless feedback. Those are not answers. I want to know where you can purchase 3D TV's and if HDMI to DVI-D convtered would effect the picture in any way.
Plasma TV looking "too 3D" ? We just bought a new Samsung 50" Plasma. The contrast ratio on this thing is 15,000:1, as opposed to a lot of others I've seen are 10,000:1. Is this the reason why when I watch movies on the movie channel that things look TOO 3D? It is like, the people and objects close to the camera look oddly seperate from the background. The quality is "beautiful" but it just looks odd. Can this be adjusted, or is this normal for a HD Plasma with resolution of 13## X 9## (forgot the actual numbers but you get the point)
Is there any way to convert Xbox 360 games from 2d to 3d? Software by samsung claims to be able to convert regular 2d dvd's into 3d for display on a 3d tv/projector. It seems that if an algorithm can do that with movies, is there any way to do it with games that were not designed for 3d? To all you nay-sayers, 3d technology has been available for years now. It is available on certain samsung and Mitsubishi HDTVs and Xbox 360 games are starting to emerge 3d compatible (the most notable one being Avatar the game. Thank you jfk for taking the time to respond, but I disagree with your assumptions that the xbox 360 is not capable of displaying 3d. While the 360 itself is not capable of converting 2d content into 3d, if the game being played already contains 3d content (3d content in the avatar game can be enabled via the in-game option menu), a capable tv can display it. Samsung has confirmed that their plasma HDTVs (mdls PN42B450 & PN50B450) are capable of the definition and frequency required for the display of 3d content. These tvs are equipped with a 3d sync port on the back to connect shutter glasses. It should be noted that component does not meet the necessary requirements for 3d content and therefore an HDMI cable must be used (consequently, older xbox 360s without an HDMI will not work for this purpose). Just recently I have been able to confirm all this first hand with a PN42B450 connected to an xbox 360 via HDMI with wireless shutter glasses and the quality is extraordinary.
3D and me, I'm a wee bit confuzzled. What to do? Ok so there's been a lot of buzz around 3D on computers and TVs, so I thought I'd ask, what should I do about it, at the moment I have a 1080p 32" LCD Samsung Series 6 and it's a pretty expensive bit of hardware, is it obsolete now? Or can it run 3D stuff? I've heard there are many different types of 3D made by many different companies, for example I've got Nvidia on my PC, and you can set up your PC to run 3D gaming from there, but I've got pretty much no clue as to the requirements, seems like some people say you need a new 3D enabled screen, and others say you can use the one you've already got, so, can anyone set this straight? What do I need, apart from those glasses... actually what kind of glasses are best, there seem to be loads! To cut it short I need to know: What can my Samsung do 3D-wise? What do I need to maximise it's 3D abilities? What's my next step towards 3D gaming, should I wait a bit for it all to clear up or run out now and get a big 3D telly? Thanks very much if you know anything at all about it, I'm pretty much lost, it isn't as easy as converting to HD was :D. I hope you get the gist of what I'm talking about.
3D television, someone explain please? My parents are buying a new tv, and they saw a samsung ad for a 3D television. I remember hearing it on the news yesterday but I wasn't paying any attention to it. Does that mean all shows are 3D? Cause it seems a little annoying. I was also wondering whether watching 3D movies are bad for your eyes. I also heard that being mentioned on the news, but they didn't talk about it much and it wasn't clear to me.
Can an lcd tv be connected to a CPU and used as a monitor.? I've seen some large lcd's (32",42") which can be used for presentations etc. Is there a monitor jack for any popular brands of lcd tv's.I think Samsung's or Phillips' do.I was thinking of working on such a screen.Has n e one tried it?I do presentations and work with 3d softwares, graphics, etc.
What is the difference between the following 2 LCD tvs: Samsung 52" T5265F & Samsung 52" T5281F? The 5265 is $3,500 & the 5281 is $5,000. They had them both at BestBuy. The 5281 was only hooked up to an HD demo, which looked so clear, that it looked 3D. The 5265 looked considerably less clear(still really nice) but was hooked up to cable. I wanted to see both tvs with the same feed, but the 5281 would only show the demo. I don't mind paying the extra $1,500 if the quality is a big difference. Is the extra money worth it? Does anyone own either one of these tvs?
What is the BEST callibration for a LED-LCD TV? 40" 6000 Series? The problem im getting is that i payed well over 2,000 for a new tv and im not 100% satisfied with the picture and would like someone to help me callibrate it(maby im doing something wrong). its a 3M:1 Contrast ratio so it should have outstanding picture quality. Which is all i look for. I am using a Blu-Ray player with a HDMI cable. Its a samsung 6000 series 40' TV. What "in details" is the problem. It seems to look alot better and more 3d in a way when i turn the judder to max but there are still some pixels in the sky area that seem to throw off the 100% satisfaction. If anyone knows just how to do this that has worked well for them please let me know:). Also gaming for my xbox360 calibrations if you know about them too. THANKS
Is this TV good? I am looking at a Samsung Slim DLP projection 50 inch. It is 1080 hd. It also has a 3d plug supposed to be for gaming? If you know anything about the 3d please share! Would this be a good tv, and what should I expect to pay for it?
Gaming TV DLP or LCD? I currently have a 47" LCD TV which looks great. But I have the option of purchasing a 61" DLP TV. I know this question was asked and answered two years ago but I want to know if anything has changed. Should I stick with my 47" LCD (Olevia) or get a 61" DLP (Samsung). I'm going to be playing high end games (think Crysis with dual 9800 GTX's). Also does anyone know anything about that new 3D feature that comes with the Samsung DLP? Does it have to be a 3D film or does it convert all pictures into 3D? Has anyone USED the 3D feature and I stress again... is it specific media or will it 3D my high def games (Crysis, FarCry 2).
ANOTHER QUESTION ABOUT 3D MOVIE SET-UP? well i just bought a new 52" sony LCD/HD T.V. with a home theater system, and blu-ray dvd player, do i need anything else in order to watch a3D movie on it? or do i need to set something up through settings towatch it? i also have a HDMI hook up for for the blu-ray.....i was told i was set to watch 3D through that for now from some people and my fiance then i got this message recently "You need a 3D video source and the proper glasses. For example, a 3D blu-ray disc and the glasses that come with it. Different 3D requires different glasses. There are the classic blue-red glasses, then there are amber-blue glasses. I don't know if there are others. Now, the newer 3D that you are seeing in theaters is kind of available at home, but you need a tv (usually plasma) equipped with that feature --- you then need to hook it up to a PC and have the proper polarizing glasses. Samsung has a plasma that does it already ... Sony is coming out with one (I am not sure if this one will require a PC), but it does require glasses that are the most expensive part of the package" anyone else have any input on this discussion?

iPhone 3GS vs Samsung i8910 HD what's your pick ? The newly announced Iphone by Apple has once again created a product that everybody will be craving about. The Iphone 3G speed has many improved features over its predecessor. Having a better 3 megapixel camera which is able to shoot video is one example. But of course looking at other phones like the i8910, the camera is a joke. We have to put in mind that Apple is not really attracting its customers by releasing a new high-end device. Because no matter what the Iphone is not a high-end device. Apple has a way to sell its product in a more hypnotising way. It seems whatever Apple releases must be the best and definitely worth the upgrade. With new improved products coming out every 6 months, Apple has definilty found the way to sell what it wants. Now this is different in other countries like Russia or Japan and even Europe, the phone doesnt sell as much as in the US and even mac computers are not as used over there. Maybe everyone exept America has found that Apple is not the god of gadgets, and that there are better alternatives. The Iphone though has sold like crazy and the App store is what to thank. Having just delivered 1 Billion downloads from it, it has definitly made the Iphone a popular device. Many companies now are opening up app stores for their platform. Nokia just released its app store called Ovi store which will let Symbian users download apps over the air like the Apple app store. You can even download specific apps based on your location. This is a nice feature but will probably effect only a small amount of apps. And even Ovi has a long way to go to even compete with Apple, but Symbian is the most used mobile platform in the world so they might have a chance to catch up. The Samsung i8910 runs on Symbian which means that the Ovi store does run on it and you are able to download apps when connected to the internet. Samsung has also built its own app store but there is still some work to be done to make it fully functional (link). So let’s talk about the differences between the Samsung i8910 and the Iphone 3G S. One is made by Apple and the other by Samsung. Samsung has been making phones a lot longer then Apple and thus has more experience and knowledge with what people want. Apple has to but they are still a little behind. Spec wise: Here is a comparison. Display: Omnia HD i8910 TypeAMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors Size360 x 640 pixels, 3.7 inches - Accelerometer sensor - Proximity sensor for auto turn-off - Scratch-resistant surface Iphone 3G S TypeTFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors Size320 x 480 pixels, 3.5 inches - Multi-touch input method - Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate - Proximity sensor for auto turn-off - Scratch-resistant surface - Ambient light sensor Camera: Omnia HD i8910 Primary8 MP, 3264×2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash FeaturesGeo-tagging, face, smile and blink detection, image stabilization, wide dynamic range, ISO 1600 VideoYes, HD 720p@24fps, D1 (720×480 pixels)@30fps, QVGA time-lapse and slow-mo video recording Iphone 3G S Primary3.15 MP, 2048×1536 pixels, autofocus FeaturesTouch focus, geo-tagging VideoYes, VGA@30fps SecondaryNo Features: Omnia HD i8910 OSSymbian S60 rel.5 CPU ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz; 3D Graphics HW Accelerator MessagingSMS, MMS, Email BrowserWAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML, Opera 9.5 RadioStereo FM radio with RDS GamesAsphalt 4 HD, incl. motion-based + downloadable ColorsBlack GPS Yes, with A-GPS support Java Yes, MIDP 2.0 - Digital compass - MP3 player - DivX/XviD/WMV/MP4 player - Organizer - TV-out (for SD content only) - Turn-to-mute - Document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF) - Voice memo Iphone 3G S OSiPhone OS (based on Mac OS) CPUARM Cortex A8 600 MHz, PowerVR SGX graphics MessagingSMS (threaded view), MMS, Email BrowserHTML (Safari) RadioNo GamesDownloadable, incl. motion-based ColorsBlack, White GPS Yes, with A-GPS support Java No - Digital compass - Google Maps - Audio/video player - TV-out - Voice command/dial Conclusion: As you can see the Iphone still has a long way to start competing with European and Asian phones. The i8910 is better, cheaper at $650 unlocked which means that you can use it with T-Mobile and At&t. The only thing that I prefer over the i8910 is the fact that Iphone has multitouch and the app store. But in almost every other feature, the Samsung Omnia HD takes it away by a mile. What do you think?

Samsung PN50A450 - is it that good? I'm looking at the this tv on the future shop website...http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0770HDS0010099752&catid=...and I'm wondering if this is a good tv or not. I'm trying to figure out whether to go with lcd or plasma but when I saw the specs on this tv and the fact that it has 3D technology it's kind of too good to be true. It's cheaper than a few of the lcd tvs I have been looking at but it's so much better at the same time. Why is the tv so cheap? Are there anythings I should know about? Would you go with this plasma or some other tv like an lcd? For this tv I'll probably be using it for gaming and movies, along with obviously everyday tv. Thank you for any help. sorry the link on futureshop is http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0770HDS0010099752&catid= yes, I was thinking about the burn-in effect on the tv, however the features include "anti-burn-in tech". Does that really work or can it still suffer this problem? So lcd is the best way to go? or could I still deal with this tv as long as I make sure I don't game for too long and take any precautions to the burn-in effect.

Questions about HDTV's? 1.) When tv's are upgraded, such as samsung A650 to A750, what are the main things that change? yes of course new style and higher contrast, is there anything else? 2.) What is 3d ready? I just transferred to TV sales at Fry's Electronics, I learned ALOT my first week, I'm just trying to gain some knowledge that the salesmen havent shwed me yet. Is there any other interesting things I should know?

Dual monitor, second monitor looks mediocre.? Hello everyone. Used to have an old account but forgot the password. /face palm. Long story short, I run a dual monitor setup. On the left I have my AOC 22" (Fine) and on the right, I have my Samsung 32" LCD Full HD TV. It runs as my second monitor (As well as TV, Foxtel and Wii). My main problem, is that since updating the Samsung firmware, the graphics settings on the monitor have reverted back to stock (Bad looking). Example is having a web page (Firefox) full stretched to the screen (1920 x 1080 @ 1080p24). It looks terrible. Saying this, watching a movie is fine. It's like as someone has turned down the AA on the writing. Now, I am smart when it comes to computers (Diploma of I.T) so I understand computer language. I have downloaded the latest drivers. I have gone through the Nvidia control panel and played with 3D settings to no avail. Graphics card is a Galaxy Tech GTX 275 OC, if that helps in any form or way. I am just hoping I have missed a setting. Thanks, Tom.

I am also playing this computer when it arrives on a 22" Acer Monitor. Any suggestions to a different monitor? Do you guys think that it will play Warhammer,WOW,and Fps Games smoothly? Thanks in advance!! hey guys thanks for the info but ya the Fps game i was talking about would be Counter strike. Will it run CS smoothly??? Thanks so your saying that the graphics Card Geforce 8500 wont even run the game. I know im going out on a limb here but on the Warhammer website it says it supports it so i am thinking it will work but not top of the line.
DOES ANYBODY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS? well i just bought a new 52" sony LCD/HD T.V. with a home theater system, and blu-ray dvd player, do i need anything else in order to watch a3D movie on it? or do i need to set something up through settings towatch it? i also have a HDMI hook up for for the blu-ray.....i was told i was set to watch 3D through that for now from some people and my fiance then i got this message recently "You need a 3D video source and the proper glasses.

LG 60PG70FD and 3D shutter glasses? Can the 60PG70FD support 3D shutter glasses? The set is a 60" 100hz full 1080p Plasma. Does anyone know much about the shutter glasses... I know the samsung has 3D ready plasmas, but I figure it's just the 100hz which gives them the right to print that on their TV's.
Computer Poll - What type of a system do you have? If you don't know any of your specs, I'd rather you didn't answer. (Sorry, but I'm not looking for a bunch of IDK's) I'll start: Brand: eMachines T3828 Desktop Hard Drive: 80 GB (slightly more than half full) Memory: 256 MB DDR SDRAM (yea, that's all) CPU: 335 Intel Celeron Processer (2.8 GHz) Operating System: Windows XP Home Editon Graphics Card: Intel Extreme Graphics 3D Resolution: 1,024 by 768 How old: 4 years (I bought it in January, 2005) Price Paid: $400.00 ($450 minus a $50.00 rebate) Monitor: I'm currently using a Samsung High Definition TV as my monitor, which is working quite well. (As you can probably see with this dinosaur, I'm overdue for a new computer and I'm planning on getting one for Christmas, which is the reason why I'm curious to know what other people have.)
