Autocad Views / Printing?

Ive drawn 2 3d models in my model view. I did this by drawing 2d polylines and extruding them. I am trying to take each 3d object and place them in paperspace? (On my title block so I can print them.) I cant seem to get my drawing in the correct view or scale I want for printing. I right click on my model tab and select new layout, but I cant move one object within a layout without it affecting another. How do I take each object and put them in individual layouts so I can apply the title block and scale them without them affecting one another?

  1. one seggestion is to make them in model space then in paper space make your title block then using viewports to view the objects. you can make as many view posrts as you need. Each one can be scaled/zoomed and moved.
  2. Hi, Set you paperspace layout ready to print at the scale you need. Then using the 'MV' command create a modelspace viewport in the paper space layout. Once this has been created you can access your zoom, pan etc.. command within the modelspace view by using the 'MS' and 'PS' commands to switch between modelspace and paperspace. In order that your model space view is scale to match the paperspace layout look for the 'viewports' toolbar on your screen. In this tool bar there is a scale type in - set this to 1. If the toolbar is not visible, right click anywhere in the tool bar areas and select it from the ACAD menu. If you required the plotted file to hide lines, then type in 'MV' to acces the viewport control followed by 'H' to access the hidden line removal toggle and then 'ON'. The next this you may need to do is to stop the modelspace view border from being printed. I usually create a new layer and in the paperspace view change the viewport to this new layer (this does not affect the contents of the viewport only the boundary line) - then make sure the new layer is a non printable layer. Hope this helps. PS. If you have extruded curves and want to turn of the myriad of lines going around the curves try the 'dispsilh' command and set it to 1.
