Need help from a Graphic Artist?
I work with a lot of 3D CAD modeling programs and STEP or IGES files. Here’s my dilemma...I would like to impose an image of a logo onto a 3D object (not behind the object) so that the image sort of wraps around the object, rather then the image appear flat and simply laid over the object. I don't know Adobe Illustrator or PhotoShop that well or if these programs are capable of doing this task. What programs are capable of doing this task and is Illustrator or Photoshop capable of doing this task? If so where can I get instructions on how to do this? Thank you for your help it’s much appreciated.

- Photoshop alone is able to do this, if you already have the logo designed. Go here and download the the trial. Click "try". http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ I have Photoshop CS2, although I'm sure it's the same in Photoshop CS3. You open the logo in Photoshop then, you go, Edit > Transform > Warp and then pick how you want to shape the logo. Then you bring the object in behind it. Here is a video tutorial that will help. Click the picture of the can. http://www.photoshopsupport.com/tutorials/tt-cs2/image-warp.html Good luck!
- Photoshop CS3 is the way to go. There are numerous methods for this. Best to search out photoshop tutorials. Or hire a designer to do it for you! :) www.tutorialized.com isn't bad for some tutorials. www.lynda.com is the best.
- The techniqe is called "texture wrap," and Photoshop as a limited version of this function. However, most 3D redering applications will have this, very basic, feature. If you dig around a bit, I'm sure you can find it in your 3D applications.
