3D - 2

Where are the best places and best ways to look for a 3D Modeling job?

I have graduated with a degree in Animation and am looking for a job more focused on 3D Modeling. I enjoy prop/car/building type modeling. Any ideas on where and how to look for that? Preferably Arizona, if not, LA or Dallas.

  1. You could ask at architect firms for the names of model builders they use, and then offer yourself as an assistant/intern/apprentice. I know people who have done this but the entry path is quite informal, so you have to just get your nerve up to approach them.
  2. Well, you could go to Monster.com, and sites like that online, looking for work.. My husband, is a graphic designer, and he has done a bunch of freelance work, from home, on a site, called Guru.com, you go, and make a profile on there, and some samples of some of your work. My husband just finished doing a tv commercial for the U.K. He got paid pretty well to... They do like a paypal set up, so you never get ripped off... They will match up your qualifications, with people, who need work done..and email you, and you bid on the job. My husband gets 2 or 3 emails per day. It could be something, you could do, until you find something else..full time. But I do know that Yahoo's home page, and Monster.com, and Careerbuilders.com all have places you can do job searches, and post your resume. Good Luck... This is a wonderful career...my husband loves it!
