i have to build a 3D model of an atom?
I'm in the 8th grade and i have to build a 3 Dimensional model of an atom. I'm have NO IDEA at all how to do this. Anyone wanna help me and tell me alittle bit on how to do this? At least so I can get an idea of how to build it. The maximum size it can be is about 8 inches in diameter. I decided to work on Lithium (Li). Oh, and the energy levels need to move. Please answer this question with ideas on how to make it. I already know all the information on the element, so please don't give me information on it. You can contact me at http://www.myspace.com/ashley_with_an_a . I have MyspaceIM. Put your YahooIM address if you chose otherwise please. Any websites?

- buy a big styrofoam ball, and stick little marbles in it for proton and nutrons. then get copper wires or something and make your energy level. stick a long wire straight through the styrofoam ball, and secure your energy level around that wire. now the energy level can turn. Good luck
- Can't be done, the nucleus would be too small to see unless you have a microscope. And energy levels don't move. If you have your choice of atoms, choose Hydrogen and turn in a ball because it just has a 1s electron. So the orbital will just be a sphere. The nucleus will again be too small to see so you can leave it out.
