A good 3d modeling software????

what is a good software that Will allow me to build 3d models and insert them into home made videos? so far I only heard of Maya thanks alot

1. in addition to maya is 3dsmax. Those are the two main ones. There are a few other good ones as well, like lightwave.
2. There's an open source alternative called Blender, www.blender.org Or you can stay with the commercial line of products from Autodesk, such as 3D Studio Max (great program, very powerful) There's AutoCAD which makes 3D models, but very basic, used for things like designing houses or engines. There's more out there I believe, just have to do some Googling
