how to build 3D model of DNA?

i cant use any types of food the supplies i have are beads and pipe cleaners my teacher said to like make it a ladder and put your stuff on, and then when your done with putting the beads on then twist it into a double helix but i dont really understand how you do that and how its going to stay

1. Take two pipe cleaners and put beads on it in intervals. Do this continuously with other pipe cleaners until you're satisfied. Find dome way to connect it together. When this is all done, stretch the parts that are in between beads into ovalish loops. The beads will stay on bcause they are supported by the twists.
2. yea i did mine like da latter but it came untwisted!! i need to know how to do this before wedensday cause dats when my project is due
