How to build a model of the respiratory system? 3d so that it would show all the organs and stuff. PLEASE HELP

I'm working on it...by using this cardboard and then adding some play dough that is shaped into the heart and teh trachea but the bad thing is how do I make the model stand? Or what materials should I use for the model?

  1. Well, if I were you, I would use modeling clay. Good luck with the project though. Godot was here.
  2. well the classic one is the 1.25 litre fizzy bottle that you cut in half or 2/3 down (to cut off the bottom), attach a rubber material across the bottom (diaphram) I have seen rubber gloves used...the tougher ones are better as they don't tear so much)..its has to be air tight... Then get some straw and make an upside down Y...the branches are the bronchi while the single tube is the trachea...they have to be taped up quite a bit so air doesn't escape. To the ends of the straws attach balloons and then the "traceha" is taped into the mouth of the bottle...again air tight. When you pull down on the diaphram, air rushes into the balloons...ie no blowing of the balloons by us. and the balloons will deflat when the diaphram is pushed upwards...this is to show how air pressure is involved in taking air in However if you want another type of model...i guess if you got a decent sized box and cut it or use a shoebox you could make it your "stage" to set all the peices on. Otherwise I have seen "poster type" models where you have a drawing, parts stuck onto that.....
  3. you can try this. You cut the card board in the shape of the humans body. Make holes at specific areas, in the shape of the organ you have made. Now u can put the organ into the holes you have made. organs might tend to fall. so u can add small platforms to support the organ. So u can make your project beautiful by coloring the cardboard. So good luck with it and have fun.
