what is a good and professional 3d house modelling graphics program? If money is not an issue?

Want to know what a good 3d graphics program is for building houses. Particuarly one that involves the sun and shading. and is reasonably easy to use or learn and is professional?

  1. I would recommend Microstation from Bentley. If you have used CAD before, this is a pretty straightforward jump. I first used this in college in my architecture classes-- and at that time a student edition was available for a *significant* discount vs. the professional engineer pricing. http://www.bentley.com/en-US/Products/MicroStation/Overview.htm Professionally, I also see 3D-Studio used quite a bit -- as it still interoperates with DXF files for import (although you still must manually extrude to create your 3D). Either of these would be good choices, esp. if you are looking to use these professionally.
