Can a person who is blind in one eye still see IMAX style 3D movies?

There are a couple of cool 3D IMAX movies playing right now and I want to know if they will look 3D to my boyfriend who is blind in one eye.

1. only if he wears 3-D glasses
2. NO. you can see the movie but not the 3D effect - if you look through the glasses with only one eye it will look flat
