What is the difference between a movie released in a standard movie theater and an IMAX version of that movie.

I want to know is there a better viewing experience while watching same movie in IMAX ,Is IMAX a 3d movie theater , Does one have to wear that 3d glass while watching movie at IMAX , specially talking about the new movie kung fu panda.

1. IMAX is an enlarged screen with much louder sound, in an imax 3d movie it tells u to put on the glasses in the action sequences, u dont wear them the whole movie, not all imax movies are 3d but i think kung fu panda is
2. watching movies in imax is AWESOME. i think its a better experience. and for 3d movies, u do have to wear 3d glasses. they arent the red and blue kind though. they look like sunglasses, but they are 3d glasses.
