How can I make a 3D model out of a picture and make the model move in mpeg format?

I want to make a Photostory w/ video and turn it into DVD, but have some big ideas but not sure where to look. I'm using movie maker 2.1 and photostory 3 and mixing it with Nero 7 to make it into DVD for my family. I don't want to throw junk together and make it crappy. I want to take pictures of myself and my daughter and the the image and wrap it around a 3D model like they used to do in the old Goldeneye 007 for N64. It doesnt have to be perfect since I'm a novice to programming. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks, edrach

1. Poser is a 3D animation program. Poser 5 & above allows you to model facial features to resemble the subject. Good luck to you.
2. if you are serious about 3d or animation you will do your very best not to use poser. there are some great 3d programs out there where you can build your own characters excatly as you want them, so you could model yourself and your family. then texture them however you want. probably the most popular are 3dsmax, maya, lightwave and XSI have a look into these programs and see what you think. poser would only be good in one circumstance. you've never used 3d. you never plan to use 3d ever again and you want something straight away. as a 3d artist i emplore you not to use poser if you even want to take 3d graphics up as a hobby anyway i hope this helps
