What is best option for a computer that can render a 3D scene the fastest?

Im a 3D animation student. I make (or atleast attempt) movies in 3D studio max but the problem is that the render time for even a ten second clip is like an hour! I would prefer if a proffesional animator or a computer expert can help me. right now i just use a gateway pc with a 512 memory and i think a 3.6 gHz processor. What would be my best solution wen it comes to power for rendering stuff? i kno that proffesionals usualy use like supercomputers for that stuff. thnx

1. 1. best 3d graphics card on the market 2. 2 gig plus memory on an XP computer. 3 Dual core processor - Must be Pentium or AMD equivalent 4. Very fast hard disk. 5. Must be a desktop. Laptops won't do it. The CPU would run too hot. You don't need to pay big bucks. A really good gaming machine from a local specialist computer shop will do. Go to a place that can build the machine up for you.
