Realtime input for realtime 3d animation?

Hi everybody, I'm looking for a way to have a realtime 3d movie, very simple, which is able to transform several aspects (eg. dimension, color..) based on a code/script. The complexity level could be very simple: if "variable_name" = 34 then "change the color to red". Varibles could even be on an externale file, like text, xml...Does anybody have some tip for me?
