3D Max and 3d animation questions~?

I am a 3d animation lover. And there's a lot of questions i want to ask about 3d. I am studying 3d max now, but there are a lot of questions which i still don't have a n answer for them. First question: Is there any webpage which can teach us more about 3d animation or 3d max? Second question: What kind of softwares i need to have in my computer , if i wanna be a 3d professional? Third question: How many RAMs, what CPU, and what kind of acessories i need to install in my computer to produce a good animation? Because everytime when i render my movie, it takes days to render a 30 seconds movie. Fourth question: Everytime when i render a movie with "mental ray" effect and " Mental ray shadow map", i see an undesiderable shadow on the object. I dunno how to remove that shadow. Fifth question: When should i use " Advanced ray traced shadow "? in 3d max? Thank you very much~

1. 1. if you have a licensed copy of 3ds max then there is tutorial cd/dvd which helps you to learn 3d technique. You can also download tutorials from the autodesk site. 2. You need 3ds max for animation and adobe photoshop for texture creation, editing and image touch up 3.Use computer with Xeopn processor with at least 2 GB Ram and OpenGL/ Graphic Accelerator display card like NVidia ot ATI 4&5. 3ds MAx help file will tell you how to do this.
