  1. I'd use a MacPro or a MacBook Pro. They handle programs like Photoshop, CS3, etc very well. I assume that would handle a CAD just fine. If you need a windows box, i would look into a dell XPS 720 BTW: What does fasy mean?
  2. MAC, don't even try running cad on windows computer.
  3. apple mac most likely. I work on CAD and the comp I use at work is an Apple...most up to date comps will take CAD but the Apple is more proficient
  4. MacPro- ive had no issues with this computer. I have both Mac OS X and Windows Vista on it. its great!
  5. any computer that is pentium 4 or dual core would be best. i would suggest staying away from windows vista just get the xp pro. you will need to download opengl driver or some 3d acceleration software to assist. and you should be set
  6. Not so much the computer but the components in the computer that's important. You want one if a powerful graphics card and alot of memory. Laptops usually don't have the kind of graphics card you'd need so your best bet is to stick with a desktop. Gaming computers are usually souped up with high power graphics cards and memory, so you might want to check out the Dell XPS or Alienware pre-builts. Make sure you check the minimum system requirements on the cad software you're using.
  7. It doesn't matter what you use as long as it has enough RAM. In school we run the most recent AutoDesk Inventor off of a computer with 2gb of RAM, and a 512mb Nvidia GeForce 7200 video card. These are MORE than necessary. I have personally run AutoDesk Inventor 10 on my desktop at home which had 1gb of RAM and a 256mb GeForce 6800 GS. I have also run it on a desktop with 1gb of RAM with a 64mb video card, and it ran just fine. From what I have seen you only need a powerful video card if you are doing extremely complex drawings.
  8. Get any computer with a good graphics card. Recommended GeForce 6800 or higher and a pentium 2.0 Ghz or higher. A Mac OSX would help to as long as it has a good processor.
