AUTOCAD Architectural Software for Architects?

I would like to know what is the latest, most Powerful Software on the market used by Architects to do AutoCad work, i.e. renderings of say a Commercial Building or Hotel etc. My friend who's an IT guy told me he had one that costs like $15K said it would take a long time to learn etc. I would like to know the very best AutoCad Software out there so we can produce cool Architectural 3D renderings for Commercial Real Estate projects. For that reason, I am interested in The Best, Most Powerful software regardless of price. I don't want a cheap version, just THE BEST professional version, used by the TOP architectural firms or 3D professionals out there. Thanks!! :)

2. I am currently using AutoCAD 2007. Also do not get the AutoCAD 2007 LT. This version of AutoCAD does not come complete with the 3D Renderings that you will need. Also do not get a student version which will be offered. This expires. Also AutoCAD 2005 is just as good and not as expensive.
