Cad Drafter?
I'm currently a college student who finished Autocad 2D and working on Autocad 3D in my community college(2D is practically an introduction to autocad while 3D refers to more 3D drawings and more onto rendering objects and future presentations.) I was wondering if this is all I need to be a drafter or are there more specifications in order to be a drafter?

- The only thing that is permanent is change so they say. So if you are still young as obviously you are, most likely there will be some more changes in the set of rules in being a drafter. In the past for instance, teaching requires only a grade three educational attainment. Then the requirement became a high school graduate at least. Then a Bachelor's degree was required. Who knows what will be required tommorrow then with this kind of trend?
- Dear don't worry practice Autocad 3D to the maximum level. For a draftsmen you shoud have good knowledge of Engineering Drawing Machine Drawing and a CAD tool to use them on Computer Concentrate on Theory and 2D drawing its enough.
- It all depends on the company that you work for. They will usually have their own way of doing things and also the industry they work in. I wouldn't worry too much about lighting, rendering etc but knowing your way around 3D models will help. Being numerate and literate will also help. Will you be getting a certificate or qualification from your college? Experience will help the most. Maybe if you can't find paid work try and get a summer placement with a company or short term work experience where if you make a good impression they may well hire you anyway.
