Auto CAD Electrical Kind of thing?

I need some advice on something. At my company we do a lot of electrical types of drawings. We actually design solar systems and misc. electrical things, and we are looking for a good computer program for this. I used CAD in school, and it's kind of what I need, except it has waay more features than we need and costs waaay too much. Do you guys know of any good 2d (or 3d??) programs that we could use to make our drawings? It just needs your basic stuff really...electrical symbols, normal construction symbols, line tools for colour and stuff....you know. Our budget is up to $500 or so, we don't want to go over but we can if we have to. Cheers for the help mates ps it's not electronics, so that's not required

  1. What program do you guys use before decide to switch-over? If it's AutoCAD only...you can create electrical blocks and create a library inside the AutoCAD and you can call it up. It's a lot of work buy it's free just time and dedication on your part.
