If you want to go with what is the most widely used, documented, supported and will give you a job ( there are always shortages in these professionals ), then AutoCAD is your best bet. It has the most plug-in packages to tailor it to a specific purpose and has been around as long as DOS has been around ( yes, it predates WindBlows! ) The downside: It is EXPENSIVE.
