any experience with 3D ultra sound ? doesit help to have more accurate diagnoze or it is just Fancy?

if anybody knows 3d ultra sound will cover with care card in BC canada or not ? I am in 16 weeks & I shlould have ultra sound in 20th week , I 'd like to have accurate ultra sound to recognize baby is fine & know the sex I want to do shopping I don't know what color to buy any idea please let me know

1. I am in Canada. I had the basic 2D one done at 18 weeks. found out it was a boy and he is healthy. We had to pay to have the 3D one done, and they are pretty good. They confirmed again that it was a boy and that he is healthy. The 3D ones like that are more for fun, and they do not usually do them in the office.
2. If your in BC they won't tell you the sex. Its not legal. They will tell you if your baby is fine though. Maybe go with neutral colors like yellow and green?
3. Pish Posh they won't tell you the sex. I live in Vancouver BC and they told me the sex of my baby. I had it done at 24 weeks. It was awesome. I loved the experience, I will do it again for all my children. It is not covered by the care card or your extended medical. It will run you around 150 bucks for the lower end package. But I recommend the middle package. You get pictures and a free web cast of the baby. I loved it!! By the way: The ultrasound techs do not diagnose any issues with the baby in 3d ultrasound. It's purely for fun. I had about 8 ultrasounds during my pregnancy and no one ever discovered that my son had a heart defect and would need surgery a week after he was born. So nothing is 100%.
