when is a good time to get a 3d ultra sound?

i am 25weeks prego, i already got 1 ultra sound, but i am paying to get a 3d one done, i was wondering if anyone knew when a good time to go is? when i can see more of babies features? im so excitted i dunno if i can wait, but i want them to be good pix............

1. I believe it is 28 - 32 weeks, with 32 being ideal. I had one done at 32 because that is what my doctor recommends. It didn't work out though, I had a stubborn one! He buried his face in my rib cage and refused to move. Luckily they didn't make me pay for it, and billed my insurance as regular sono. They medical reasons to back it up. I was too big, with too much amniotic fluid and a big baby.
2. I got a 3d done at 7 months pregnant and the pictures were beautiful. I could see every detail. It was almost like looking at a photograph of my baby outside of the womb. I wouldn't have waited a day later to do it.
3. If you want to see a lot of the baby on one screen I would do it soon because as the baby grows, they can only see parts at a time. Also we got a 3d ultrasound done (at 34 weeks) because of a medical issue and the baby had his hand in front of his face and all we saw was his lips and his cheek. So be prepared that you may not see all of him/her. Sometimes they can't see the face at all because of the way the baby is turned. Our tech said a lot of people who come in and pay for them are usually disappointed. They can be really expensive too- $200-300. You only have 15 weeks (or less) to go before you see the real thing!
4. i had one done when i was 32 wks, it was cool, and we could see her, but if i was to do it again id do it around 29 wks, because she was so big it was pretty hard to see. Where i went they would only do them from 28 - 32 wks..so i suggest around 29 wks. But other than that it was pretty cool, we got to see her features, her big pouty lips, and her cute lil nose lol so its fun! congrats on the baby!!
5. 7 to 8 months. I have seen them with younger and you cant really tell the facial features. I would wait about 6 to 7 months along! Then you will know what the baby looks like when the baby is born! Hope I helped :)
6. the best bet is 28-32 weeks. i'm planning to get one at 28 weeks!

8. I am a sonographer (ultrasound). I would suggest at about 27-28 weeks is ideal. There are several differenct factors that influence a good 3D image: having enough amniotic fluid, fetal position (breech or vertex-head down) vertex is better and whether baby is face-up or out either side. Face down doesn't help at all. Baby should be big enough, but not too big and hopefully the other factors will be good for the scan. Good luck and hopefully your baby will be photogenic!!
9. I did mine at 29 weeks and 5 days! She was beautiful! It was so worth the money! Enjoy!

Well if you want ot see the full body of the baby you should have it done the latest at 25 weeks after that the baby will just be too big and they'll have to do it piece by piece and thats a very expensive ultrasound think of what you want if it doesn't matter than any time after your 2 trimester will be good.
