When is the right time to get a 3d or 4d ultra sound for the best results?

I am 17 week pregnant and i wanted to get the 3d or 4d ultra sound when is the best time?

1. when your about 24 weeks and up is the best time trust me...

4. I would say in the mid 20's week, i just had one at 31 weeks and couldnt see anything in 4d because he was already too big! :(

6. They say to get optimum pictures, anywhere between 25-31 weeks is best. We had ours done at 31 weeks with my daughter and she wouldn't cooperate. We got the best pics we could, but with this pregnancy, we're going to go earlier.
7. Congrats! I am 17 weeks along as well with my first. The 4D place here said they prefer that you wait until you are near 25-30 weeks since you can see the baby much better at that stage.

12. I had one at 26 weeks, 30 weeks and 32 weeks. The one done at 26 weeks was by far the best to see the babies features... I didn't have the option to schedule one any earlier than 26 weeks...they wouldn't let me; they claimed 26 weeks on was the only way they could do it... The one at 32 weeks was crappy...think the baby was too big to see many details or something?!

16. here is the web site for where I'm getting mine done. it has a calendar that tells you when is the best time to get one done. all you have to do is click on your due date and it fills in the calendar for you. http://www.theultrasoundzone.com/calendar.html I'm getting mine done on july 12 at 20 weeks and september 13th at 29 weeks. I get 2 ultrasounds for $300 so I figured this to be the best time.
17. When I was preg with my little girl I had a 3d scan at 27weeks+3days, and it was fantastic, very clear. I was advised that 26-30weeks is best time, before that the baby hasn't filled out very much, after the 30 week mark the baby is quite squashed in so maybe obstructed to view. My friend had a 3d scan at 24 weeks and it was still amazing, but there was a major difference between hers and mine, hers was more skeletal looking.
18. I paid to get one at 17 weeks to determine the sex. It was cool, but not worth the pictures. He was still too little. I just got another one last week at 25w 5d and I think it turned out really nice. I will probably go back one more time around 31 weeks. I love 3D ultrasounds!!

I just asked this question yesterday,but back to yours,everyone said the best time would be between 26 to 31 weeks,Im scheduling mine for 28 weeks,but heres a website that will help you out when to decide to get the best results for your 3D/4D Ultra Sound! 20. My last ultrasound at 20 wks (to determine the sex of the baby) I asked that same question and they told me that the best way to see the baby in a 4D ultrasound is to come in at 30 to 31 wks. Before then it's harder to see more of their actual features and after they are wrapped up in a tight ball and it's harder to see their face. If I were you I would call them to ask. Congratulations!
