how safe to do 3D ultra sound in 28 weeks of pragnancy?

2. It is very safe. No harm done. My sister had one of these done last week when she was 28 weeks. It was very cool, and fun to get. Congrats, and go for it.
3. that is one of the best times to get it done i called a place they told me week 28-29 is one of the best to get it done. but that was 4d! and also i read weeks 26-34 is good timing.
4. There are reports that say that any ultra sounds can damage the babies hearing. I have yet to find one of those reports though. I have opted to only do required ultra sounds and not get any optional ones. Its up to you to decide. If you can find a report or study that supports the hearing thing, then I wouldn't do it unless it was necessary.
5. I had one at 28 weeks and my baby was perfectly safe. It is done very commonly now and is very safe.
6. It is safe. I had 2 of them done, 1 at 21 weeks then the other at 32 weeks. it is not a good idea to get them all the time, but the dr wouldn't order one or do one if it wasn't safe.
7. I asked my doctor the same question, she told me that they are extremely safe, she actually encouraged me to get one. I had mine done at 27 weeks, and it was the coolest thing I have ever done in my life. To be able to actually see your baby, is amazing. I cried when I saw my daughter on the screen.
8. Safe!! I had one done somewhere at 32 weeks and it was a great time because you could see her perfectly. I told my Dr. I had it done after the fact and he said that I should have just asked and they would have done it for me! The cautions about ultrasounds are because there are places that do them that really solicit people to try and do them frequently and get a package deal...like every month. They are there for the money, not the baby. Frequent ultrasounds are possibly not good (the jury is still out on that, they don't know enough to say for sure so advise not to, to be on the safe side) but an occassional ultrasound is just fine!
