Computer crash when playing 3D?

Now i know there are loads of questions like that, but ill be more specific. Every time i go play 3D games, like Stronghold 2 or Warrock, my PC crushes. The fan is clean and working fine, drivers for Video and Sound are updated to the last version. actually, it all started when i downloaded 9Dragons to my PC. I though it was a virus, but scaning doesn't really help. It doesnt detect anything. Got any ideas what should i do (oh, and more detailed: without reinstalling Windows)? plz help me!

  1. Has your PC got enough RAM for the game? Check the games minimum requirements for the minimum amount of RAM and the minimum amount of memory required on the card. If these are OK, I would suggest going to the card manufacturers site and downloading new drivers.
  2. I had this problem earlier this year too... i bought a new video card and put it in and it still did not help... after about two weeks of figuratively beating my head against the wall, i discovered that my hard drive was dying, and that was the problem... i do not know what the hard drive had to do with 3d games and things, other than maybe cache, but once i replaced that, they run smoothly.
