no sound from rear speakers?

I've attached a 5.1 setup to my sound card and am not getting any sounds from my rear and center speakers. if I plug the rear speakers jack into the [front speakers] audio input on the sound card, then I will hear something (so I know that the speakers are all working fine) -the sound card is a CMI8738 6-Channel PCI 3D (http://www.sabrent.com/products/specs/SBT-SP6C.htm) -I have selected 5.1 speaker option in windows 'sounds & audio devices' -I went to c-media and downloaded the latest drivers thanks for the help I have used a software that tests all speakers and onlt the front speakers respond I got it! hey kat, if you need help email me at sscontact@mm.st

1. If you're in 5.1 mode you need to play something that produces 5.1 sound. Music will only play stereo, using the two front speakers. A movie with 5.1 sound will work, many games will too. You may find options to change the way the sound plays, so you can play stereo files using a quadrophonic system - you'll need to play with your sound card software.
2. I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!!! and its so frustrating-i have tried every configuration on my PC!! - and i cant get all speakers to work
