Will counter strike 1.6?

The requirements for counter strike 1.6 are: Min System Requirements: System: Pentium-133 or equivalent RAM:24 MB RAM CD-ROM: 4X CD-ROM Video Memory: 2 MB VRAM Hard Drive Space: 400 MB Mouse: Yes Sound Board: Yes DirectX: DirectX v7.0 Recommended System Requirements: System: PII 333 or equivalent RAM: 64 MB RAM Video Memory: 4 MB VRAM 3D Sound Card: Yes My computer is way past this 900GHz processor 128MB RAM 8x4x32 CD-RW 32MB VRAM and mouse, sound, directX, all that stuff and I'm running windows XP professional edition My friend who got the same kind of computer as me, almost identical, downloaded counter strike 1.6 on a torrent and it lagged really bad. When he changed the settings the game stopped working all together. I've never really liked torrents so I think it didn't work because the torrent was bad quality. If I buy the retail version of counter strike 1.6, will it run on my computer without any lag? Also, do I need half life to run counter strike? Thanks a lot :)

2. well that happened to me to. Downloading counter strike from torrent always does bring problems (viruses to) so the only thing i can suggest u is to buy counter strike by steam or buy a half life game and register the game on steam to get half life, c.s. 1.6, team fortress, etc. ( i bought half life for 4$ used and it brounght me 6 games for 4$ :<) No u dont need half life to run counter strike
