- No most games now a days demand more processor power and better graphics card. Just cause it can run Vista home it still won't push games. If your a serious gamer try to upgrade to a Core 2 Extreme and GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card to push Direct X 10.
- If you're looking to run the top-of-the-line cutting edge games, this machine likely won't handle it. However, it will do fine with about 90% of the rest of the games on the market. It should run any 2D game just fine, 3D games, look at the recommendations on the game itself.
- Video: Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 if you want to be a serious gamer, you'll need a dedicated video card. processing speed helps but the video card is the real workhorse when it comes to games.
- Pretty good for a laptop, but what do you mean by gaming? If you mean high-end 1st person gaming (Thief, Splinter Cell etc.), then no, 'fraid not. If you mean general gaming (sims etc.) then yes, they are. What you have to bear in mind is that the graphics card in a laptop is built into the mainboard - you can't change it. High-end games don't support this configuration (unless of course, you can afford an AlienWare laptop which are are built for mobile gaming). Before buying games, always check that they will run on your computer (and vice-versa).
- Go on buy it... it's more than Perfect
- I think your pretty much set for your average gaming needs like playing the Sims or what the average gamer would play. However, if you want to play 3-D games like Half Life Two or Doom Three, your going to have to get a graphics card that supports them (very expensive especially for a laptop.) Your hard drive is kind of small well because sometimes games do take a big chuck. However, besides the graphics card, I think that you are set to play almost any game on the market. I do notice that you don't have any anti-virus and if you are going to play on the Internet or on wireless network, you may need some. Do not worry about cost though because the programs that I am about to suggest is free. The ones that you get is AVG or Avast!. Each one has the pros and cons. Avast provides better protection (can run a boot time scan) and better control over what you want to customize, but little hard to configure and slows down your computer a tad bit. AVG provides the best performance because easier on the RAM. Overall, I suggest that you get Avast for it's protection and it's easier to use. Regardless or which you choose, you should download the famous virus killer Personal Ad-Aware SE, killing almost all the viruses that is on your computer. You don't have automatic updates nor scans, but you should still get it anyways. It's easy to update and run scans from the basic interface. To prevent viruses or hackers accessing your computer from the very beginning by a firewall known as Zone Alarm. It will give you control of who and can have access to the Internet along with your computer. On the plus side, it has a gaming mode where no request will bother you during game play though there are only two options of denying or allowing access to all programs. Overall though, it's a good firewall to get because it's easy to configure and you know what is going in and out of your computer. Once you get these programs (can be downloaded by links that I listed in my sources,) your ready go. Happy shooting!
