Wut is wrong with the graphics on my lcd tv monitor?

I just got a wii and i played twighlight princess on my sony hdtv, and a normal sony tv and the graphics were just fine. Now i got this new samsung lcd tv and when i hooked the wii up to it the grapics became worse. They became more blurred and it seemed like a painting instead of the 3d visual detail. I dont know wuts wrong ; I tried to fix the picture settings on the screen but it wasnt as good as the other 2. So my brother said get and hd cable for the wii but im not sure if thatl work, could you please tell me how i can fix it or if the hd cable will work or even why the lcd monitor is bringing up such bad graphics. The model for the tv is a samsung 20 by 12 inch tv. sry if my details r too long :(
