3d/4d ultrasound questions?

I want to get one done I'm 24 weeks, I want to know how far along were you when you got yours? And if you are happy with your results... Thanks!

  1. I haven't had one, but was told the optimum time was between 26-32 weeks. After 32 weeks, they tend to get too big and it's harder to get a good picture! Good luck :)
  2. Our picture was taken at 30 weeks and they recommend that to be a perfect time. We love it. The pictures look so real. I e mailed my mother in law in another state and she called frantically thinking we had the baby and that was an actual picture!
  3. In my country there is an optional one at 12 weeks and then your midwife sends you for another one at 19 weeks. Both are optional but the 19 week one is highly recommended. This can pick up congenial problems such as downs syndrome etc. I was very happy with my 12 week one - the technician put it on DVD for us and we got photos. You can see the profile and everything. I am really looking forward to our next one, next week. You could probably go for one now - ask your midwife or doctor to refer you.
  4. I had one done and when i booked they said they only do it from 25wks onwards as before that they cant really see a good picture...i got mine done at 25wks as i was so impatient!! It cost £200 and it was good and saw a lot of my baby, her face and features but i wish id waited a lil longer as i woild of seen more and it would of turned out better but i know for nxt time but id def get one....i also got a dvd which o loved watching and stil do.
  5. I had one done at 17 weeks and I got VERY good pictures. Mine look like the lady above's who was 30 weeks when she went. You could clearly make out facial expressions, body parts, etc. I loved it and I'm planning to go for another one at about 30 weeks.
  6. the people I booked with also said they don't book until usually after 24 or 25 weeks. I'll be going in at about 24 weeks 3 days, but its a free view. After that I'll book one after the 30 weeks so I can buy the pictures and get a DVD.
  7. I was lucky this time round my hospital did one when I had 21 week scan. Baby doesn't have much fat at that stage. I had a private one at 30 weeks and he looked more like a full term baby. The later scan the better but you will enjoy it whenever you decide to have it done. X
  8. I havn't had one done yet but have been told that it's best to have it done when you are 26 weeks or further along in your pregnancy for the best results. If you are in an area where this is available a good place to check out is UC Baby but it's only offered in certain places. Check online at the site they offer many neat things you may enjoy, I know I am looking forward to my appointment at the end of this month.
  9. With my first pregnancy I had one at 12 weeks and 28 weeks. The 12 week one was a little freaky deaky. I would just rather imagine that my little one is a cut little round baby rather than the alien thing I saw. I don't mean that to sound mean I still loved my little alien with all my heart. The one at 28 weeks was absolutely perfect and accurate to what my baby looked like after birth. With this pregnancy I have had one at 17 weeks and it was still slightly alien like. My doctor will give me another one at 28 weeks again like last time can't wait!
