  1. Jane can repair 8 lawnmowers in a day. If she takes off 1/4 of the day for a parent meeting at school, how many lawnmowers can she repair in the rest of the day? ((x - 7)*3+6)/7 = 3 3(x-7) + 6 = 21 3(x-7) = 15 (x-7) = 5 x = 12 1.3mi/mon * x mon = 195 mi x = 195/1.3 x = 150 months
  2. The answer to #2 is 12
  3. 1. take the number 3. divide it be 4 times an unknown number and the result is 6. what could the unknown number be? sorry if that sucks. i'm not good at them. 2. [3(x-7)+6]/7 = 3 3(x-7)+6 = 21 3(x-7) = 15 x-7 = 5 x = 12
  4. Alright, I'm sorry i can't help out with the first and last, but the second is quite easy. All you have to do is go backwards. Take the result, 3, and go in reverse. Instead of dividing by 7, take the opposite and multiply by 7. This will give you 21. Now, subtract 6 and you get 15. Divide 15 by 3 and get 5. Add 7 and you end up with 12. 12 is the original number. 12-7=5. 5x3=15. 15+6=21. And 21/7=3. It's quite easy. If I wasn't pressed for time, I'd help you out on the other 2 but alittle too busy. Hope this helps.
  5. 1) 75% of a basket of apples equals 6. How many apples are in the basket? 2)(((x-7)*3)+6)/7=3 ((x-7)*3)+6=21 (x-7)*3=27 x-7=81 x=88 3) rate x time = distance rate 1 3/10 time m distance 195 1 3/10 * m = 195 m = 195 / (1 3/10) m = 150
