3D/4D Ultrasound - Can you tell the gender?
I am very interested in having the 3D/4D ultrasound but I do not want to know the sex of the baby. How easy is it to determine the gender by looking at the face? I am so afraid we will be able to tell by the face alone. Does anyone have experience with a similar situation? I will be 30 weeks at the time of the ultrasound. Any insight would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks!

- You cannot tell by the face. A 3d/4d ultrasound can show the gender if they view between the legs.
- I dont know how you would be able to tell just by the face. Boy and Girls generally look the same as infants in my opinion.. which is why so many people have to ask if your baby is male or female. I say you get the u/s if you want it. I loved mine!! It was well worth it!
- you cant tell by the face.. the only way is too check the genitals! and dont worry...they wont check unless you ask them x
- You can have one and NOT find out the gender. I did one at 28wks but they didn't scan the genital area so we were fun. It's funny b/c 1/2 my friends think it's a boy the other say it looks like a girl...lol.
- Just specify to the nurse that you don't want to know the gender. We do it almost every time at my family, and we can't tell at all unless she gets very close to the genitals with the scope. Go ahead and don't be afraid to ask.
