what is the difference between 3D and 4D ultrasounds?
2D is the normal ultrasound, 3D is where you see the face and it actually looks human. i just didn't know the difference between 3D and 4D. my doctor does a 3D one, so I'm excited.

- 4D is 3D but in real time.. ie a 3D picture but with movement.. there is not many clinical medical reasons to have either except for pretty pictures or if there is something like a cleft lip
- The 4th dimension is time. So it's basically the exact same thing, just a time difference, That's why they're normally reffered to as "3D/4D ultrasounds"

- ok 3D is a normal ultrasound but a 4D you can see the babys face and all of its features.. its really cool!
- 2d is a normal ultrasound, actually. 3d is an ultrasound where you can actually see baby's features pretty clearly. 4d is the same as 3d only you can see baby's movements as well.
- 4D is more detailed and you can see what the baby will look like almost exactly. 3D is the regular grayscale ultrasounds.
