how do u view 3D movies?

i work at barnes and noble, and we just started selling the imax collection of dvd's in 3D. i know u need the 3D glasses(no problem) but i was wondering if you need some kind of special equipment or what? do u just put the movie in put on your glasses and youre good to go? help!
