Is it possible to create my own 3D image?

Okay, so I've noticed that in 3D movies, images on the screen are outlined in cyan and red lines. I have a pair of cyan-red 3D glasses, and I was wondering, if it is as easy as outlining objects certain ways, is it possible to draw an image on a piece of paper, outline it the right way using the correct colors, looking at the image through my 3D glasses, and having the image appear in 3D? And how do I go about doing that?
