Free 3d modeling and rendering software for games etc.?

I have tried Blender it was too hard. I wanna a software that can make cars and cartoon characters just for fun. Something where i can make high quality images from scratch. The program must have online tutorials not downloadable tutorials. The program must be free and you dont have to register wit da retailer. Something that is easy to use. I have vista And i have downloaded the python code and it still asks for it
