3D - 2

Are 3D movies the future?

A recent article by Roger Ebert has sparked my interest in the future of 3D film. I personally haven't had the chance to watch a movie in 3D in theatres, but would like to learn more about the subject. What are your opinions on 3D movies? Are they better? What changes can I expect in the next couple years with 3D movies?

  1. their okay
  2. i hope they can make the technology better. if so, then sure.
  3. I hope not. Those 3-D glasses are annoying. =]
  4. They have been around for over 80 years. The first was a short called Jim the Penman shot in 1915. They became the big thing in the 1950s before dying out before coming back again in the past few years. Movies shot in 3D included House of Wax (1953), Kiss Me Kate (1953) and Dial M for Murder (1954). I suspect that the gimmick will wear off soon for another 20 or so years.
  5. I think it will just go that way. They don't bother my eyes at all, I have seen beowolf and Bolt in 3d. The 3d effects have gotten so much better since the last film I saw "Jaws 3d" way back in 1983. Even then however that movie was polarized too with those tinted sunglasses type. I would suggest you go see Bolt 3d even though it is a cartoon (I just said it like that becuase you may not get into cartoons, but it is good, lots of humor and high pace and good story line). Now they don't really have things come way out at you like 3d movies at disney world in florida but the 3d effects in bolt are still neat.
