Should I buy a 2007 Nissan Murano with 43K miles?

I am looking at buying a 2007 Nissan Murano SUV for 16,900. It has (among others) heated leather seats, a moon roof, rear view camera, Bose stereo, and 6 disc CD changer but it also comes with 43K miles. My husband and I are debating whether the miles out weight the other benefits. I say yes - he says no. Please help Thanks

  1. No Do not pay a premium for a used car because it has all these bells and whistles. When the car breaks down, the heated seat and CD changer are worthless.
  2. 43k is nothing mileage wise. I didnt do a blue book or anything on it so i didnt know what its worth. But Nissans are known for their reliability just as much a toyotas are. I had a nissan pathfinder and put almost 100k on it and never had a problem
  3. The answer is very simple guys. If they agree to give you a 100K mile bumper to bumper warranty, go for it! If no, then stay away. Sounds like an almost new car loaded with features, so if it's being sold for so cheap that means somebody does not want it or like it anymore. Hopefully it is not because they had problems with it. Nissan's are known for their higher level of excitement and feature-laden vehicles but they are not known as the most reliable or gas-friendly of the Japanese brands. So if they do not give you the warranty, then the existing warranty should be either expired or close to it, I would take a close look at the 2005-2007 Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot. The Toyota will be slightly pricier versus the Honda but better on gas, the Honda will be dirt cheap but not the best on gas, though you will get the same reliability as you would with any other car of the same brand. Best wishes with your search!
  4. The price may be a little steep for the miles. You could actually buy a comparable Chevy for the same price brand new. All those features are nice, but those are the parts that seem to break first.
