Ultra Sound to determine the sex?
I was wondering when they do the ultra sound to determine the sex of your baby if they can not tell you on that day Will your doctor re-schedule another ultra sound just for that purpose? I live in Ont if that helps. My nurse that comes from a healthy babys program said the doctor may Not because this will be my last ultra sound Until birth Unless complication arises. Im impatient and dont have my doctors apointment for another week and was just wondering if anyone could tell me, I dont want it to be a surprise and I know they have the 3d/4d ultra sounds which look really cool however I dont have 200 dollars just to have that done or I definetely would love too. Sorry Guess I left this out... I am 15wks and My ultra sound is scheduled for when I am about 20 & 1/2 I know it is to check the growth and development also for the sex*because i asked my doctor* I dont pay for these ultra sounds because i live in canada which i am glad for. I know my friend had a second ultra sound done to tell her the sex because her baby wouldn't stop moving. However I forgot to ask her if it was medically needed or just to determine the sex. I was just wondering if people knew for canada if they had there doctors re-schedule one Or if its probbaly just up to the doctor as I know its not medically needed Well I hope there wont be a reason for another one!(as in everything is ok). - hi they normally tell you at a 20-21 weeks scan but like you say you might not get it. so i think you will have to pay to get it done. also if they dont find out they dont re-schedule not with the non private ones but with the private ones norally they do but i would check any policy they have first.
- they do ultrasounds to see if the baby is healthy and everything is okay not to determine the sex of your baby.if they cant tell the sex from the first one no they will not do another one for that reason alone.so your gonna have to come up with a reason why they need to do another one.
- In Canada they will not re-schedule an ultrasound for the sole purpose of determining the sex of the baby. Even in the US under private coverage most people would still have to pay extra for this. Determining the sex of a baby is not a medical concern and in Canada would simply waste taxpayer money. If they can't determine the sex at your next ultrasound, you'll just have to wait and be surprised (like millions of mothers before you!).
- They normally give you an ultrasound around 20 weeks in the US. They are really only checking to make sure everything's ok, not to determine the sex. If you tell the ultrasound tech how badly you want to know the sex, he/she will probably take a little extra time to check. Chances are you will get an answer, but in the rare occurance that your baby won't cooperate, you would have to pay out of pocket for another ultrasound. If that happens, you could try calling around to some of the clinics (in the US we have Planned Parenthood) and they might do one for you for much less than a hospital. Good luck!
- Normally they will do the ultrasound between 18-24 weeks of pregnancy. I had my ultrasound done when I was 23 weeks pregnant. :) Yes, they will schedule an appointment dedicated to finding out the sex of your baby if you'd like to know.
- If you have an ultrasound around 20 weeks they try to look at the sex for you but mainly they are doing the ultrasound to look at the baby and to make sure everything looks okay. If they are unable to determine the gender at that time you can have another one but you would have to pay out of pocket for it because it's not medically needed.
- Between 18 and 20 weeks
- You mite be able to tell in the next Ultra Sound. But it will depend on the position of the baby at the time.. If it just right.you will be able to see if the baby has a winky or not. Good luck.
