Should I have asked my doctor before scheduling my 3D/4D ultrasound?

I am scheduled to have a 3D/4D ultrasound this Saturday. I didn't think twice about it, just scheduled it and am very excited! Is there any reason my doctor should know about this before I get it done? Would there be any reason for her to tell me I shouldn't get it done?

2. no, i dont think they need to know.. i didnt tell my doctors when i did it! its so aweomse im watching the dvd right now :)
3. no you can go, just let them know on your nex visit you had an ultrasound because they can go over the results with u!! mine always do. they will tell you if the babys fluid levels are good, its size/weight, its gender of course. plus its always good for your ob to know everything that is going on with your baby!! but theres no need to call before hand unless you want to

5. There shouldn't be any reason for you to not get it done, I had mine done at 28 weeks, but my doctor has the equipment for it in his office. They are great and you can get some wonderful pictures.
6. I doubt it- lots of people are getting them done now. If your dr is giving u regular US then theres no difference between the 2 except you have alot better picture with the 3/4d---enjoy seeing ur little one!
