What do you think about 3D graphics vs 2D graphics in modern computer games?

Would you play a 2D game if it had really good gameplay, rather than a 3D game with great graphics but average gameplay?

3. yes definitely. it's all about the storyline, good graphics can't fix a boring plot
4. both good, I'm old school though, I like the old, old games, they're simple fun and not as full of violence as the new games

6. what do you mean 2d? like doom2 2d games? 'cause that game sucked a$$. 3d games I'm thinking something like hl2 or better. I would rather play a okay game with pristine graphics than one with crummy graphics and a detailed storyline. old graphics like doom 2 and tomb raider makes me sick. now if I could run modern 3d games beyond hl2 it would be great. did you know that there are now many graphics cards that is more powerful than the entire processing power of my current computer?
