What 3D CAD functions can be used to make a wire hanger?

I'm in intro to engineering design, and I can't find the answer anywhere. help pleaseeee!

1. It depends on which CAD program you're using. You should be able to do it by sketching a circle, then extruding it and adding some bends. You might have to do some curved extrusions for the corners.
2. Google Sketchup has the "follow me" operator. You can create a freeform line or one composed of segments, then tell it to follow the path with a shape (circle, square, whatever.) Check it out - link below.
3. In Autodesk Inventor its called a sweep command but it'll be different for different software. The idea is that you'll sweep a circular profile over a 2D sketch of the hanger to get your 3D shape.
