Did you/ are you going to have a 3D/4D Ultrasound...
and what did you think about the results if you had one done? I have mine scheduled at about 30 weeks. I hear that's a good time to get it done because all the baby's facial features are finished and he's gained more weight, but much past 30 weeks and it is hard to get everything b/c he's packed in there pretty tight. True or not so much?

- I have had 2 because they did the first trimester screening at a 3d place. the first was weird because i was about 17 weeks, so it didnt look like anything yet. the one i just got was at 22 weeks, and it was pretty cool because you could see the face. they say to do it after 20 weeks because its more developed. i am glad i had it done. 30 weeks is probably fine, he will be in there pretty tight, but they are pretty good at getting a good pic. here is a pic of mine. http://www.flickr.com/photos/27908038@N05/2723225450/
- I just had a women show me a pic of her 3D/4D pic of her baby at 40 weeks and all you could see was his scrunched up little face, so yes it is true, you can see only the face basically, and he had his eyes closed and he looked squshed in there. So 30 weeks would prolly be the best time to do it, they are not so big and a little more room for them. I want to get it done also but I have some time to go, Im only 19 weeks.
- True. I had mine at 26 weeks at it was awesome but I know if I would have waited just a little longer, I would have gotten better results. It was still amazing though. We still look at the pics and dvd and my son is 15 months old.
- I had one at 20 weeks and we're having it done at 30 weeks too. We paid for a 2 session deal; At 20 weeks he moved around a lot but was really really skinny. Still definitely a baby though! We're going back to see his features and get some good pics. Everything you said is true :) I think it's way worth the money! We had great results.
- I did read that on a 3d/4d website that it's hard to get a full look when they are to large because their face is pressed against the womb so tight and their body is balled up and unable to move/stretch as much. I had one at 20 weeks and were able to see the baby move and turn but the problem was, we did not get it done at the doctor's office and it turns out these people that provide 3d/4d scans are not necessarily trained at what they do. She couldn't even tell us the sex of the baby, she pretended the cord was in the way but she wasn't even looking at the right angle. Then she said we were having a girl... only to discover 2 weeks later we are having a boy! I hope your experience is better than ours!
- Both of my babies had 3D images done of their head/shoulder area because I had level 2 ultrasounds with both of them at 18-19 weeks. I then had regular ultrasounds done after 30 weeks and you can see absolutely nothing! But somewhere between 20-30 weeks is good, everything's formed and you can see SO much detail. I was happy with the results, it is so amazing. But it looks nothing like them compared to when they're born.
- i had one done at 31 weeks becuase he was measuring 4 weeks ahead and yes it was harder to see because he is really big and curled all up. he was hiding behind the placenta alot and due to the position he was lyin in they couldnt get to his spine...for a little while anyways and then he moved. i had one at 18 weeks also and the face is so much cleared and developed at 30 weeks. i think you made a good choice. its kinda wild to know what your child looks like before they are here! good luck and congrats!
