3D - 2

Anyone not able to have a 4d ultrasound because of the baby's position?

My doctor offers 4D ultrasounds but he made it sound like they don't always work a lot because you and the baby need to be in just the right position? For the most part have you (or someone you know) had success with 4D or not?

  1. As far as I know you can have a 4d ultra sound no matter what. You just might not be able to see exactly what you want, like the sex of the baby. Depending on how they're facing.
  2. it will work, you just may not be able to see the babys face. I had 2 of them done and both times we could only see her profile we never got to see the front of her face because of the position she was in.
  3. I was 32 weeks and you could barely see my son's face... he wasn't in the right position AT ALL. He didn't even look human. The picture looked kind of in between what a 4D would look like (like a photograph) and what an x-ray would look like. It was a little freaky looking. I was disappointed.
  4. I had one done yesterday they can do it but they cannot gaurantee a gender check if it is not in the right spot mine turned out good but I had to have it for medical reasons they had to check for cleft lip. But they gave me pictures anyway with out charge. I would say get one I am glad to have the pictures they are very pretty but I would wait till at least 6 months that way it looks more like a newborn. I am going to be 7 months on the thirtenth and the pictures look great. I just wanted to add that I could only see half her face most of the time because of her position...
  5. My cousin had one a few years ago when she had her first baby girl. I dont know anything about the baby having to be in the right position. I really want to have one, but the closest one for us is 1 1/2 hours away--which would be worth it, i would just be harder to get my fiance to go due to his working and such. Good luck tho Best wishes God Bless :)
  6. I have had one, they recommend you do not have one over 32 weeks because the child is too big and their position could make it difficult to see much. I had mine at 28 weeks at had great pictures and video. It is worth the cost.
