How to make a 3D model from 2D images from different angles?

I want to take several pictures of something (anything, a box, a cup), and make a 3D model from it. I have seen programs that do this but you need calibration stands and all this other stuff. I would prefer one that does it (somewhat) automatically, although I would not mind doing things like placing points on the objects. Thanks I also have some extra details, The program VideoTrace makes 3D models from Video, I just want something like that but for pictures, ev.en If I have to manually add the points to the Image.

1. you'll have to probably build the model yourself, using the pictures as a guide. otherwise, there may or may not be such programs, i dont know
